I think it, Thought Catalog puts it in words I couldn't have strung together myself.

"Be friends. If you can’t talk about everything and work through difficulties as friends, you stand no chance of making it as a couple."
Quote lifted from here.

Couple I've known for the longest time, here you go.

These two, my gahd.

Monica: I’m still not done not wanting to talk to you.
Chandler: Just tell me what I need to do to make things right.
Monica: What?
Chandler: Well, that’s what we do. You know, I, I mess up and then you tell me how to fix it and then I do and then, you know, you think I’m all cute again.
Monica: Really? I’m really tired of being your relationship tutor. You’re gonna have to figure this one out for yourself… You know what? If you’re too afraid to be in a real relationship, then don’t be in one.

YES I'M WATCHING THE SERIES AGAIN OKAY! DON'T JUDGE ME. I'M NOT FEELING 100% OKAY LATELY SO I NEED THIS.

Anyway, I've been really relating to these two since the first time I watched the series but I realized just now that I'm more of a Chandler than a Monica especially in my current relationship. Which is quite absurd considering I'm the one who hasn't been single for more than 6 months since I first started dating.

Does this apply to EVERYONE?

"It's amazing how much your life opens up once you stop filling it with meaningless activities and pointless drama. Cut complainers, haters, manipulators, and other idiots out of your life and watch your life expand in every direction."
-Isaiah Hankel

Like, you know, cut people who are actually related to you out of your life to make everything bearable? I'm not saying treating them like they're dead or something but just - I don't know - stop letting them affect me and the decisions I make?

Sometimes the positive thinking quotes/advice I read online contradict each other, I don't know which one to follow anymore.

A-freakin'-men.

If I were close friends with the person who shared this on Facebook, I'd give her a call right about now but we're not so I settled with liking her post.

So much truth in such a short statement… Tsktsk.

(Edit: Just to put it out there, this one's not about my relationship with my favorite person.)

Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List

So I started reading books again, thanks to my current addiction with the Goodreads website/app. I've been browsing the website for two days straight now and bookmarking every book I want to read and judging a lot of them by their covers which I know I shouldn't be doing but that's how I decide whether I would want to read it or not. (Inhale, exhale. Inhale, exhale.)

Anyway, I've just finished reading a couple of books, including this book by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn called Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List. Having just read Every Day (by David Levithan) before I read this one, I expected a lot from this book which I obviously shouldn't have done 'cause halfway through the book, I wanted to stop reading it altogether. I didn't, though, 'cause I wanted to actually finish all the books in my library/hard drive.

(Apparently, this book has a movie adaptation. Wala lang.)

Having said that the book disappointed me, I still have one line that I want to take note of:

I know, I know. I'm turning 26 this year but I am still clinging on to the idea that maybe things will start getting really easy if I'm - as the author wrote - on my best behavior. I really gotta get my head out of the clouds, huh?

The One.

"I've asked the question, "how do you know he is the one?" And I've heard the answer, "you just know it." To be honest, I didn't know it. JC and I have both been in relationships that we thought was for the long run but wasn't. But what I can share is, and this I realized from something my good friend Mariel mentioned to me, is that you know that person is the one when that person loves you the way you have always wanted to be loved."

It feels good to have someone support you.

Ever since the break-up, I've been feeling like Ted here whenever people get all supportive of my actions and decisions. I know most of my friends have been there for me in the whole ordeal that is my latest relationship - and I am most certainly grateful for the support and love, friends - but for the most part, I've been focusing on all the things I've been told that I was doing wrong instead of my friends and family, cheering me on.

Now all I feel is that I am being appreciated and supported in everything - literally, EVERYTHING - I do. I think it helps that I don't just rush into things anymore and that I consult other wiser people before I make decisions now. But yeah, this support thing feels damn good. You just know that people actually believe in what you have to offer.

Side note: I can't find an existing photo from Tumblr with that quote so I had to make one. I don't know what font is being used by those Tumblr kids for the quotes so the one I used from Pixlr Express should be enough for now.

I can only hope...

Monica: Why would you do that?
Chandler: Because you shouldn't be with him. You should be with me.
Monica: Really?
Chandler: Yeah. When you were talking about Roger, that was killing me. Look. Things like last night, they don't just happen, you know. At least, not to me. Now, with the other two women...in the morning, you know, I would just lie there and I couldn't wait to just go hangout with my friends but with you, I was, you know, already with a friend.
Monica: Chandler...
Chandler: And I know you prolly don't wanna go out with me, you know, that I make too many jokes and I've never been in a serious relationship and I guess I'm not technically a "doctor"...
Friends Season 6 Episode 16 - The One That Could Have Been (2)

"She was the third beer. Not the first one, which the throat receives with almost tearful gratitude; nor the second, that confirms and extends the pleasure of the first. But the third, the one you drink because it's there, because it can't hurt, and because what difference does it make?"

Can it go the other way around next time?

This really makes me think whenever I see it.

(Yeah, I have an actual blog entry for this in my head right now but I am too sleepy to write it all down. Hopefully, I still have it when I wake up a few hours from now.)

“You either like me or you don’t. It took me twenty-something years to learn how to love myself, I don’t have that kinda time to convince somebody else.”

Great question.

"In love relationships, there is a fine line between pleasure and pain. In fact, it's a common belief that a relationship without pain is a relationship not worth having. To some, pain implies growth. But how do we know when the growing pains stop and the pain pains take over? Are we masochists or optimists if we continue to walk that fine line? When it comes to relationships, how do you know when enough is enough?"

- Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City Season 2, Episode 12
