22 more How I Met Your Mother episodes and I'll start binge-watching On The Wings of Love. I need to see the entire series without the commercials and the weekends and the waiting. Yes. It's happening.

I don't know what happened but I am certainly hooked on On The Wings Of Love. Right now, it's the only thing I can talk about. Also, I was this close to replying to online threads that debate over Clark and Leah's divorce papers. This is baaaaaaad. I mean, I've watched teleseryes before but never have I ever lost my mind halfway through and actually speak my mind about it. Closest thing to this obsession was for Mara Clara back in 2011 but it was never this crazy. I think James Reid's abs might have something to do about it.

Speaking of James Reid's abs, I'll be seeing you guys tomorrow based on the preview. *whew* Thank you, Dreamscape.

It physically hurts.

On the Wings of Love is down to its last 3 weeks and it seems like the show's directors decided to give their audience the biggest heartbreak in the show's finale, at the rate things are going.

A few days ago, they decided to give us, their loyal viewers a peek of what's in store in Clark and Leah's journey and for that, I'd want to thank the entire OTWOL team. Thank you for shattering the illusion I've had these past few months of how perfect Clark and Leah's marriage is despite the unconventional context the idea of them getting married was in the beginning. Thank you for destroying the flawlessness of Clark Medina, the ideal guy to bring home to mom. Thank you for giving Leah Olivar the opportunity to make her dreams come true.

Thank you.

But most of all, thank you for giving me the biggest heartbreak I've had since 2013.

Yes, I am heavily invested in Clark and Leah's love story. I can't say that I am a JaDine fan - merely watching all films/TV shows they've appeared in doesn't count as being a fan, in my standards - but I'm definitely an OTWOLista who cried with Clark when Leah left him at the San Francisco airport that fateful October night, rejoiced with Leah when she landed that job in ArtMart Manila despite doubting herself, and root for Tolayts as he continuously proves his love for Manang Tiffany (Yes, I'm a huge fan of Tolayts).

So imagine how heartbroken I was when Leah decided to leave the Philippines for a job opportunity in Dubai. All the episodes prior to last night's episode have been leading up to this decision but I was rooting for Leah to change her mind and decide to let Clark help her. They are husband and wife, after all. But true to the 'unpredictable' impression they first gave their viewers, the OTWOL team decided to let Leah Olivar's fearlessness dictate the couple's fate. She had a dream and a drive. She won't let anything - not even her husband - hinder her from fulfilling a lifelong dream to give her family a better life. I am all for women empowerment but I have to be honest: This decision knocked the air out of my lungs. I wouldn't have done it, especially with the knowledge that I will still be granted the promotion once Simon leaves. There is always a way to make things work without leaving the other one to freeze out in the cold but that's just me.

I haven't even had a chance to recover from that Monday night heartbreak, Antoinette Jadaone decided to drop another huge bomb reminiscent of the SanFo airport scene, this time in CIA (probably), with a miserable Clark Medina looking for his wife in the vast, albeit empty, airport the very next day. The look on James Reid's face brought me to tears, feeling like I was the one Leah left without a goodbye. Each and every scene from the February 9 episode is so heartbreaking, I'm actually thinking of boycotting the series until On the Wings of Love ends. Not that I can actually do that since I would love to see how all of this will unfold in the end. It just hurts. It physically hurts me to watch these two grow apart.

Despite all the hurt these two are giving me, though, I am still for Team #CLeah. I am still for Clark Medina and Leah Olivar - Medina. Naniniwala parin ako sa forever.







(You'd think that after all I've been through with men boys, I'd be more cynical/jaded/bitter but thank God, I'm not.)

OTWOL Feedback...

...from someone who didn't succeed in broadcasting.

I'm sorry. I've been an avid follower of this Nadine Lustre - James Reid serye, mostly because of James Reid's ab exposures, and I've noticed a huge dip in the quality of their output and James' half-nakedness.

I graduated with a degree in Communication Arts and have learned a thing or two when I worked freelance for TV and TV commercials upon graduation. I would want to point out some of my observations, not that they matter at all:

1. The storytelling suddenly became sloppy. I know, I know. Taping and writing every single day can be tiring but there's a reason why ABS-CBN is paying people for this project. I hope they find a way to tell OTWOL like they did before. I'M ROOTING FOR YOU GAIZ.
2. Continuity! Please lang po. You can check previous wardrobe and make-up from tapes from the day before. Nadine tends to suffer this one the most. She wore 2 different sets of clothes for one day - same episode pa! - kaya kitang-kita. You can ask production assistants to take note of this.
3. Transitions have become scarce these past few weeks. I don't know why this is the case because there are a lot of scenes that the story (both its entirety and just for a single episode) can do without anyway. Why not lose those in exchange of better transitions?
4. And speaking of transitions, the music that comes with them are not edited well, in my opinion. Plus, there are parts of specific episodes where the music is so much louder than the talkies (Tama ba ang jargons ko, classmates?).
5. I LOVE TOLAYTS AND CLARK'S ALIPORES!
6. But I love James Reid's abs more so please give me back my James abs time!

Anyway, I've been really relating to these two since the first time I watched the series but I realized just now that I'm more of a Chandler than a Monica especially in my current relationship. Which is quite absurd considering I'm the one who hasn't been single for more than 6 months since I first started dating.

Every Pinoy (ABS-CBN) teleserye and movie from the past - I don't know - 2 years? has this song on their track list and it always, always, ALWAYS gets stuck in my head right after hearing it. Even if I don't know any lyric, the melody just sticks to you... No? Just me? Okay. I don't care. I just freakin' love this song.

I don't even watch Arrow.

After years and years and years of watching and re-watching How I Met Your Mother, I've finally realized why I was always ready to scratch my friends' eyes out whenever they call dibs on her when the Sino-ka-sa-*insertshowhere*? game comes up during our drinking sessions: She has the most patient, understanding, loving, and supportive husband. Despite the freakout she always has when something huge comes up, her husband stands by her...even if that meant him, getting hurt in the process. I want that.

Also, she's way hot in season 2 so there you go.

Currently watching last week's episodes of Pure Love and please don't judge me for watching this teleserye but it's really good (partly because it's a remake of a Koreanovela meaning the concept's not really Pinoy but what the hell). Anyway, I got all kilig when this scene came up from the September 18 episode. When I realized I was smiling like a high school girl, I thought "WTH stop smiling!" because it's lame and also because I am not Yen Santos in this scene. (Sorry boyfie!)

I don't understand why most Pure Love viewers push for the Joseph Marco-Alex Gonzaga love team when clearly, his and Yen Santos' chemistry is spot on. I know the love story angle revolves around Dave and Dianne but Yen Santos' portrayal of Dianne-possessed Ysabel makes that angle work. Am I the only one feeling this way? JoYen/SephYen/YenSeph...whatever they're called in teleserye fandom; I'm rooting for them.

So I've mentioned that I watch Pure Love but not when it airs on ABS-CBN because Brianna doesn't want to watch these kinds of shows (she freaks when the soundtrack changes to that music teleseryes use when one of the antagonists plots some kind of revenge over the good guys). I watch it on PinayTambayan.com. I'm actually on a Pure Love marathon right now so I'm cutting this short.

I first noticed Joseph Marco on the Primetime Bida soap, Sabel, back in 2011 where he was part of a love triangle with Jessy Mendiola and AJ Perez.

Now that he's back on Primetime Bida, my life is suddenly back on track. I have something to look forward to again. Forget about the future and spending the rest of my life in the loving arms of my favorite person; Joseph Marco on primetime is what life is all about now.

I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to watching Koreanovelas now. I've seen a bunch of them, too (see here and here), thanks to being a work-from-home mom and to ABS-CBN for airing a whole lot of them in the afternoon. You know what, though? I'm actually enjoying it. I know they act all weird (for me) but the stories are oddly engaging.

Anyway, I'm currently downloading this:

and I'm most probably going to watch it in one sitting. Don't judge.

This Pantene ad has appealed to me the first time I saw it on TV a few days ago. Not only because I can totes relate to her dilemma but also because I have this girl crush on Denise Laurel. Hihi.

My Sex and the City Guy Soulmate

The Sex and the City character that has appealed to me the most is Carrie only because 1) I love her apartment and 2) she's a successful writer but maybe I'm really a Miranda. She's a single mom who's projecting this independent/feminist aura of sorts but in the end, all she wants is just to be cared for by a man. See, even my Sex and the City guy soulmate is Steve. To be honest, though, while I was watching the series, I really, really love his character: A simple guy who bartends for a living while he woos a lawyer with his boyish charms and incredible loyalty. Yeah, I raved about Big somewhere in this blog but only because his lips are too darn kissable for my life.

Wait, whut?!

Okay, it's been a while since I last raved (or ranted) about HIMYM and the series is almost over. I have to admit, the past few episodes aren't as powerful as before except for that cheesy episode where Ted finally lets go of Robin (cheesy but yes, I cried).

The latest episode's (s09e19) closing scene, though:

It's effin' with my mind! I don't want to believe the theories I've been reading online but this scene... I don't know what to make out of it.

I love watching TV. I decided to take up Communication Arts because I would love a job that allows me to work in TV or just to watch all the TV that I want.

I watch a whole lot of Filipino TV shows for a La Sallian and I actually enjoy them. I even get into screaming matches with the characters through our television set (I'm crazy like that). But I am not at all immune from the charm of American TV series. If anything, I talk about them here and on Twitter more than I talk about local TV shows only because I can relate to the characters of American TV shows more than I do the local TV show characters ("langit ka, lupa ako" type of situations are not really applicable to someone like me only because I'd rather not meddle with the rich and the famous...and as if they'd even notice me or anything).

My favorite TV series as of the moment has got to be How I Met Your Mother and I am quite thankful that our SKYcable DigiBox actually has 2nd Avenue and Star World where I can watch the show over and over again (even though I have the entire series up until the latest episode in my laptop AND my hard drive). This makes me wonder, though: Is there another cable channel that will allow me to catch old/new episodes of HIMYM? If so, I'd love to get it on our DigiBox. Luckily for me, SKYcable allows subscribers to add channels and packs that you like to the basic plan. So if there are other channels that air episodes of How I Met Your Mother, please please please, I beg you to tell me right away so I can add them to our current plan.

If I were given a chance, though, to watch How I Met Your Mother the way I want it, it has got to be on set and the whole production allowing interactions between me and the characters. There are a lot of times in the series that I wanted to hug the characters just to let them know that someone understands...especially Ted in the latest episode (s09e17). Oh my gosh, my feels! I just wanted to hug him, okay?! I don't even like the Ted-Robin tandem because Barnman and Robin are just ♥ but I was just so affected by one of the scenes in that episode okay!!! So, yeah, watching HIMYM on the set and allowing me to interact with them every once in a while has got to be the way I want to watch it.

I've thought about it before...

...and holy crap, I'm thinking about it again.

I am not going to elaborate on it anymore because I don't want to lose face again but here's what I'm going to say: Watching Cougar Town - yeah, I've finished Community - when times are hard is not a very good idea; especially if you're a single mom who's just gotten back in the field after "starving yourself" for what seemed like forever. Doesn't matter if you've already hooked up or not, it's just not wise to watch it altogether. It effs your brain up without you noticing it.

Watching it just put me in this dark place where I will never know what the answer will be unless I actually ask which doesn't sit well with me because 1) I'm (finally!) currently in this stage where I am comfortable not communicating and 2) even if I have the chance to ask, I am totally not the kind of person to ask about it. Not that I'm a prude but I am quite confident about it but this TV series messed with my freakin' head and I'm not even halfway through season 1 (I'm on episode 3)!

I love Courteney Cox because, hello, she's Monica Bing and to be honest, the series' story is somewhat relevant but if you seriously, seriously love your relatively young, single mom-self, do not watch Cougar Town...well, not if you have the insecurities of a high school girl like me but if you're really confident with your "skills set", then, yeah, go ahead and watch it. See if I care. (I will.)

PS. This wouldn't have happened if I went on to watch Suits instead.

The only reason...

My good friend, Lau, suggested I watch Community and now I am so addicted to it. I've never seen Joel McHale this hot! The story's great and everyone's funny but, yeah, Hottie McHotterson over there...hummuhnah hummuhnah hummuhnah.
