First ever Grand Baby Fair experience

So I didn't get to attend the members only soft opening of the Grand Baby Fair at the SM Megamall Mega Trade Hall as well as the first two days as I would have liked but I did attend the last day. It's my first time ever to have attended such a fair that caters exclusively to the babies and it is my first time ever to have attended the Grand Baby Fair because I was admitted to The Medical City during the last Grand Baby Fair.

Anyway, I didn't know what to expect and was originally going to buy just a bag of diapers and those goodie bags they give out but when I got there, it was like a mommy's shopping haven! Despite the overwhelming number of attendees, I got to enjoy myself and I'm pretty sure Brianna had a fun time, too, with all those people she saw there.

Here are the items we got the baby girl from the Grand Baby Fair:

We got her this Evenflo BabyGo Travel seat that can be folded and be brought anywhere you want to bring it. It is extremely light weight and portable because it has an integrated carrying bag that will make it easier for the one who's carrying it. When I first saw it, I couldn't let it go (there were limited stocks) and I just had to get one. I asked the guy who works for the event to get be a much bigger cart - I only got those ones that hold two shopping baskets - so it could accommodate this. I asked for the grandparents to pay for it as their gift for the little girl. They agreed to it. Hee.

I also got her this cute and adorable drawer which now holds her clothes. Of course, not all of her clothes fit there so I still had that separate plastic organizer with all her other clothes. This was the last stock in the Owen stall during the last day of the Grand Baby Fair so naturally, I had to get it.

My mom also got this all-too-adorable Kiddy Bin-Stool by Kids Kit from one of the stalls in the Grand Baby Fair. It is a chair, a stepping stool and a storage bin all rolled into one. It's currently storing some of Brianna's toys and is happily sitting in our family room.

These were the only ones I was originally gonna get from the Grand Baby Fair but what can I say? It is hard to control yourself when everything is 70% off!

This is the best bargain of all for me, though:

The goodie bag full of, well, goodies! I got two bags because my parents had to pay for the Evenflo BabyGo Travel seat and I paid for the rest so some of the items in the goodie bag came in two. I always feel this rush when I get loot bags. A bag probably have PHP500 worth of goodies in them and everything's for free! I love it. My ultimate favorite goody is the Avent VIA Cup.

I would love to experience that again and again and again. I am definitely looking forward to the next Grand Baby Fair! Hope we see you there!

That's what it's all about!

Trish and I watched the press run of Rivalry: Ateneo - La Salle The Musical last night at the Meralco Theater. Upon entering the Lopez building lobby, you could already pinpoint which ones were La Sallians and which ones were Ateneans. La Sallians just had to come in green. Not La Salle shirts or anything literal. They - which includes me - were just in green. Ateneans...well, they had this "air" to them and I think we all know what I'm talking about and no, I'm not trying to pick a fight. Let's put it this way: Atom Araullo's father (who happens to be an Atenean) said in the press con that they walk like they have apples stuck in their underarms.

Anyway, upon entering the theater, I already noticed how the set looked like and immediately thought "Sound of Music's was..." and then stopped. Tried my best to take my mind off the production of The Sound of Music - which was extravagantly done, by the way - to appreciate the minimalist approach to theater design by this musical. Got over it a few minutes before the show started. Thank you, PSI.

The show was great! I am not just saying that because I am a La Sallian. I am saying that because you'd get to see and experience how intense it is to be a part of these two communities come UAAP season, or in this play's case, the NCAA (FYI to those who don't know, La Salle and Ateneo were originally part of the NCAA).

The cast is superb! I especially like the Tommy character (naturally) because he is the La Sallian and I love his personality in the play. Plus, I love the fact that his hands are always tucked to the pockets of his jacket like that. I have this prejudice that all La Salle varsity players do this. Hee.  I don't know who exactly is the one portraying Tommy but what I do know is he's an Atenean. To be honest, he made a convincing La Sallian.

The Knoller in the red cardigan, Reena, is the lead female role and she is my high school bud, Athena. We sat next to each other during the entrance exam and since then, even if she didn't pursue studying in St. Paul, we still don't forget to add one another in all social networking platforms. She did great considering this is her first lead theater role. One of the press people even commended her performance.

Obviously, I won't spill all the details here but I'll say this: I was kinda hoping that they'd end up together but they don't.

Anyway, the second half of the play was where they spilled the beans on how the rivalry started. Was about to tell Trish "Ah, ganun pala yun..." when I saw that she was asleep. Yes, she chose to sleep that very moment when one of the characters was explaining how the feud started. Galing ng timing mo, iha.

You'd feel the school pride after the play. You can feel it from the La Sallians, the Ateneans and the Iskolars.

If you want to know "what it's all about" and why UP is suddenly mentioned here, you'd have to watch Rivalry. Here are the ticket details (available at Ticket World) once again:

What kind of Dragon are you? - Globe Business

I've seen Bianca Gonzalez tweet about the What Kind of Dragon Are You? link a few times before but didn't take the test until yesterday, when I accidentally clicked it on the Yahoo homepage while logging in to my account. I thought of answering it thinking "What the hell, it's free anyway". This came up after:

I think they got everything right except for the "slow to anger". I am short-tempered but I am trying to not be one because I know how annoying that can be.

Anyway, I saw the chance to win a Nokia phone just now. I hope I win!

Baby Company Grand Baby Fair Year II - Up to 70% Off on Selected Items! (Jan. 27 to 29, 2012)

Since, I didn't get to go last year - I was admitted to The Medical City just in time for this - I will be going on the first day of the Baby Company Grand Baby Fair Year II!

Daddy Bry bought our (overused) stroller and (underused) crib at the Baby Company Grand Baby Fair's first year last year and we are so grateful that such a sale happened because we got these two for a really low price (which we apparently needed considering the rates of The Medical City) and a whole lotta loot from it. I will definitely be here on the first day of the sale.

See you mommies - and cutie patootie wittle babies - there!

I think Brianna's yaya is has it easy.

It's my first time EVER to have a yaya in the house. I grew up with a kasambahay who does all the chores, yes, but a nanny that's sole purpose is to look after me or my siblings, no. My problem is I don't know if I am being to lenient on Brianna's yaya but whenever Brianna sleeps, I let her sleep too. I also don't reprimand her that much if some of the things she does (that doesn't affect Brianna) is not to my liking. I need help with managing a yaya. What should I do and what shouldn't I do?

Ooh-wee!

Trish and I are officially watching Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical. I got these tickets from a buddy from high school (Hello, Athena Tibi! Thanks!) who's part of the cast. I don't know how to feel going into a "Press Night" viewing. I am a writer though I don't really consider myself as "Press" but here we are! Anyway, I should be worrying more about what to wear for this occasion. Is there a dress code for Meralco Theater?

If you're interested to watch Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical at the Meralco Theater, here are the ticket details for their shows:

Orchestra Center – P1,650
Orchestra Side – P1,300
Loge A – P1,000
Loge B – P950
Balcony A – P800
Balcony B – P600
You can get your Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical tickets from Ticket World or from dropping a message in the comment box. Weeeeee! Kamown, let's watch and know the root of all evil that spawned the feud between La Salle and Ateneo.
