Yes, Size Matters.

I'm not really a fan of burgers. I don't know why but they just don't appeal to me. Especially those that are being served in fast food restaurants. Now, don't call me a hypocrite just yet 'cause I admit, I eat them every once in a while. I just don't crave for one ever, nor are they on the top of my mind whenever somebody asks me "San tayo kakain?".

Enter this Size Matters poster:

NOW I WANT A FRIGGIN' BURGER! LOOK AT THOSE BACON, I'D TRADE ANYTHING FOR BACON. FOR REAL. And could you just take a second to look at that cheese steak sandwich?! Pure perfection. Ugh. Now I'm hungry and I just finished a bag of Potchi. *sigh* Pig mode: On.

I'm not entirely sure if there's another branch of Size Matters now open in the Metro but I do know they're opening at SM North The Block soon. I'd go all the way there if that's the only branch they'll open here.

I seriously cannot wait. I'm sure that after seeing those, you can't, too.

Edit (June 17, 2013): So there's a Size Matters branch in BF Paranaque, along President's Avenue near 7-11. Saw it when I was there last Saturday and I would've eaten there if it wasn't closed that time. Ugh. Burger gods, help me get my hands on even just one burger. I swear, I'll eat burger more if that's what you want me to do.

Also, I hope they open a branch somewhere here in the East. I mean, they have one in South and another branch opening in the North. Might as well open one here, too. Like in that new place in Kapitolyo, where the old Rizal Municipal Hall used to stand.

Diet and Exercise: Round 129834987409834092735.

After a couple of months of relapse on working out and dieting, I decided to start on  building those two habits all over again partly because I got inspired by my friends' progresses but mostly because I can't find a single t-shirt in my closet that won't show my pregnancy/beer belly; which is unfortunate for me because that's all I want to wear whenever I go out. I mean, with a pair of shorts and sneaks, you can never go wrong, especially with the kind of weather we're having...but that's not really the point here.

Anyway, I've found the perfect workout for me since the Nike Training Center didn't really work for me - I don't enjoy doing squats and push-ups, okay - and the running thing is not a regular thing because I just have a lot of conditions when it comes to that. Since my Tatay and my brother bought an Xbox, I asked them to get a dance or workout game that I can use. They got me this:

I started yesterday and I got so addicted to it, I probably danced for more than an hour. I love the fact that the music that they used are mainstream ones so everyone can relate to it. There are hiphop beats (Superbass, Nicki Minaj), pop (Call Me Maybe, Carly Rae Jepsen), dance (On The Floor, Jennifer Lopez) and some old school music, too (My First, My Last, My Everything, Barry White)! Livin La Vida Loca is on the line-up, too, but it has a weird dance routine. It's as if they're making fun of Ricky Martin.

Aside from dancing, I've also changed my diet quite a bit. Dinner now consists of a cup of fruits and oats and several glasses of water. Plus, I am limiting my rice - and other sources of carbs, for that matter - intake to one cup per meal (breakfast and lunch). Beef, pork and chicken remain on the diet since I am leaning towards fish lately anyway so I guess it won't cost me much. Beer and other alcoholic beverages will remain part of my diet as well, since I don't consume it on a regular basis. Since I'm not really a fan of sweets, cutting back on it will not be a problem. Chips and McDonald's french fries will be the hardest to give up but as Malia said, disiplina lang. Cutting 'em back to once a month EACH. Guess I've had my fix for both for April.

Official weigh in is at 127lbs. I'm planning to lose at least 17lbs. and to flatten my tummy. Deadline is on my birthday, September 15.

Sigh. Losing weight has never been a problem for me in the past. #AnyareSatin

Free Doughnuts

We went to High Street yesterday after our Binondo thrift shopping for snacks. We decided to buy a dozen of Krispy Kreme Mickey Mouse doughnuts when we saw the Mickey Mouse bags. Where do the free doughnuts come in? Well, when you buy the doughnuts while wearing a Mickey Mouse article of clothing - preferably, the shirt - you get a free doughnut. That's what happened to me yesterday. I don't know, though, up to when the promo is and if you need to get a dozen Mickey Mouse doughnuts to avail of the free one.

I know what I'm doing is good...

...but I can't shake the feeling that it might be turning me into someone I don't want to be.

Okay, it's not that deep... It actually isn't deep at all. It's about smoking. I haven't had a single stick of cigarette since Monday last week and it's the longest I lasted without one since I started smoking again in 2011. It's done a lot of good for me: I can smell what our neighbor is cooking and I can actually differentiate what's salty and what's saltier. Plus, I don't pant whenever I go up the stairs anymore.

So why the hell am I complaining? Well, for one, my patience got shorter. I know that doesn't make sense. I don't get the connection either; I just noticed I got a lot more irritable without nicotine in my system sheeshgetoffmybackwillyougod!

*deep breath*

And second, I've been eating a lot lately. I eat when I wake up, then I eat after I run/bike, then I eat lunch, then I eat again at 3pm then again at 5, then I eat dinner and then right before I sleep. I don't eat small portions each time, no. I eat meal-sized meals!

I got this oral fixation thing real bad. If I had a boyfriend were with the boyfriend all the time, he'd probably be the meal I'll be devouring, if you know what I mean.

At least that's not going to make me fat...

Weird comfort food?

I have been looking out for the ultimate comfort food. The food that lifts my spirit up whenever I feel bad. For most people, it's chocolate. To some, cake. Well, actually, if you think about it, most people are inclined to eat something sweet when they feel bad. I realized a few days ago that I am not like most people.

I just realized that my comfort food is egg. Yes, egg. I eat scrambled eggs when I have a terrible hangover from an awesome drinking session I had the night before. I eat balut eggs when I feel like I'm going down with fever. I eat omelet when I'm mad about something (!!!). Heck, I eat quail eggs (kwek kwek!) to brighten up my day.

I was feeling weird for having egg as my comfort food until I read an article online that says egg actually brightens up anyone's mood:

From http://eatthis.menshealth.com/node/186812

I know eating too much eggs can cause my blood pressure to rise and that is the reason why I don't eat it that much. Twice a week, maximum. That's it. Good thing I don't get depressed/mad/anynegativeemotionhere all that much lately.

Now I want scrambled eggs on top of a cup (or two) of fried rice.

Nestle Fitnesse 14-day Program

In line with my 110-pound weight goal for this year, I have decided to try this 14-day program of the Fitnesse product of Nestle. Actually, tonight's my second night on the program. If this works out well for me after 2 weeks, I might just stick with it.

For tonight, I had bananas with my cereal. I know I didn't really follow what was written at the box but I was really craving for bananas! Tomorrow, I promise to follow the instructions as stated here:

Woohoo! Let's go, Ale! Oplan Megan Fox-like body 2012, here I come!

Osama's Shawarma

This has got to be one of the best tasting shawarmas I've ever tasted my whole life. I am not just saying that because the owners of this business are La Sallians and I am not exaggerating.

Last Sunday, we went to the bazaar in the Megatent in Ortigas for some Christmas shopping - where I didn't get to actually shop because I didn't have money with me then; I got myself a pack of gift tags, though - when halfway through the tent, I felt really hungry. We went to where the concessionaires were and immediately thought I wanted to eat shawarma. Now, I am used to eating lame and stale-tasting shawarmas so I didn't expect much when I saw that the Osama's Shawarma stand looks much like any other shawarma stand. So anyway, I had to wait longer than usual before I got my wrap because they just opened and the sauce wasn't ready yet. When I finally got my shawarma and took a bite, it's like my mouth orgasmed from all the flavors. The beef, the bread the onions, the tomatoes, they're all the same but the sauce, ohmygod. I wouldn't mind having bad breath all my life if that were the sauce of all the shawarma I'm going to eat.

Taken from the Osama's Shawarma Multiply site.

Now, I don't know if everything in their menu is as good as their shawarma but the wrap was so yummy, I had to know where they're based then lo and behold, their home base is in Agno.

Commercial: Ugh, just talking about it makes my mouth water.

Anyway, I bet the shawarma rice would make my mouth orgasm in a different way because it's rice and we all know how I LOVE rice. Damn. I wish they have a branch/stand near my place so I could have it any time I want.
