The Dark Knight Rises

Don't worry, no spoilers to those who haven't watched it yet.

Last night, me and my girls watched The Dark Knight Rises in Glorietta 4. Honestly, I wasn't really that much excited when Jill pitched the idea but I wanted to see all of them that I thought "What the hell, tatlong oras lang naman". I didn't expect for it to have the effect it did on me:

I actually enjoyed the movie.

I am totally not the superhero-action-movie kind of girl and now that I think about it, I really am not a movie person period. If you should know, I've slept through  the whole Matrix trilogy and the first X-Men movie. I'm the last person you'd want to invite to a superhero-slash-action movie marathon with. I'd stay up the entire night marathon-ing TV series - both local and foreign - but you won't ever see me awake during movie marathons. Although I'd stay awake if we watched really cheesy chick flicks or Star Cinema (circa 2000++)-produced films because that's how I roll.

What kept me up, in this case, is the intrigue behind Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character (c/o Jill and Mafe) which totally blew my mind in the end that I punched Malia so hard on her arm that I'm pretty sure she's gonna punch me on the face the next time it happens. The last cafe scene confused me, though. I was sorta forcing the Inception POV. Haha!

Lastly, Anne Hathaway is great except I kept on remembering her eyeglasses-braces-and-big-curly-hair, Princess Diaries days so I cannot fully appreciate her performance in the movie.

All in all, The Dark Knight Rises is good. It doesn't guarantee I'm gonna watch the next one if there is a next movie nor will it guarantee me, watching more superhero action movies in the future. But it's good. Really good.

As Told By Ginger?

So I've downloaded the entire As Told By Ginger series to my laptop and it has been there for quite a while now because I downloaded Hey Arnold, too, and watched that one first.

Anyway, I just started watching As Told By Ginger last night and I got the shock of my life when I saw the very first episode. Why? Because the characters I grew to love watching on Nickelodeon looked far too different. For those who don't know how they look like in the episodes that aired in Nickelodeon, well, here they are:

Now, imagine my horror when I saw the first appearance of Ginger Foutley and the gang in Nickelodeon. No, not the episode posted above. It's numbered as s00ep00 and they looked like these:

So apparently, the very first version of Ginger looked like this. She looks a lot like her mom.
Dodie Bishop doesn't look like she underwent too much change but the hair bothers me.
Blake Gripling looks nothing like the one from the series that aired after this episode.
Darren Patterson looked like he's a really pale gothic kid which is weird because he's supposed to just be a light African-American.
My biggest surprise came when I saw Miranda. Miranda Killgallen was white! In the series I watched, she's a really light African-American. Plus, her face here is long and thin while in the series, her head was more like an oblong. Courtney Gripling looks different, too, but I sorta imagined her to look like this when she grew up so it didn't come as a surprise.

Anyway, this articular episode looked like the artists of Aaah! Real Monsters and the older episodes of Rugrats worked to make this episode happen. I think I was just staring the whole time I was watching the episode because I had to watch it again to finally understand it.

I love As Told By Ginger because I think that this particular series touches on sensitive issues teens/kids go through that other cartoons didn't: Death, bullying, love heartbreaks and other issues. It's Hey Arnold for teeny boppers.

Ooh...

So apparently, I have a regular visitor here.

To you,
Hi! Feel free to read my thoughts which isn't about you but might be about your boyfriend but you'll never be quite sure because I've had 2 exes, anyway.
So, there. Hope you enjoy reading my mind as I am enjoying the idea that you give a f*ck about what I say.
Good day!
Ale
PS. I do have another blog where I talk about you. Yes, you are important enough to make it there but don't flatter yourself. It's a blog where you don't want to be in. It's like a little black book thing.

Damn... Really feels good! I feel so damned important! Thank you, Dearie. :p

This melted my heart.

I saw these in one of my high school teacher's Facebook account and I am soooo touched by it.

The woman was a teacher in Algebra in high school and all those years in HS, I thought she was already married. Then a few weeks ago, my sister broke the news that she was getting married and at first I thought she was just celebrating her 50th anniversary with her husband. The renewal of vows blah BUT NO! She was getting married for the first time! I was in total shock because back then, she was already old (which makes her oldER now) but she still tied the knot. And not just any wedding, IT WAS A CHURCH WEDDING.

Damn, my heart is soooo happy for her.

There's still hope.

WTF, CHRIS BROWN?!

WHY DID YOU BLEACH YOUR HEAD?!

WHY?!?!?!?!?!

I think the universe is trying to tell me something...

I was browsing through tweets in my timeline from the previous night when I came across this:
If you have to keep asking him and bugging him for attention, he's not worth it. His mind, unfortunately, is elsewhere or on someone else.
(via @TheNotebook)
Then a friend retweeted the next tweet right after I posted the previous one on my account:
The less you seek attention, the more you'll get it. Quiet confidence makes 'em wonder... #TheSW

Saw my OB again a while ago for the weekly check-up and she said...

MY CERVIX HAS ALREADY
DILATED 2CM!
Brianna is coming, I'm having a hard time believing!

Anyway, while my head was spinning, Dr. Amorin gave us this brochure on this stem cell procedure that they're going to do on me when I give birth if I give my permission. Bry and I are considering it but we'll research on it first.

Dr. Amorin also has filled out the forms that I will be needing once I go into labor and gave them to me already...

I'm sorry, I still can't get my thoughts to straighten up yet. I'm still too hung up on the idea that Brianna's coming really, really soon!

OMFG. I actually found someone with the same first name as me. Shock of my life, seriously.

"Kc dw bumaba2 n baby ng relax dw pelvic bone"

...Dra. Amorin's assistant went when she replied to me.

Last night, I had a total fright when my pelvic bone - which I don't know what it was called 'til the assistant replied to me. I texted her "buto malapit sa genitals". What a dummy - started to hurt a bit because I didn't feel anything like that in my life. EVER.

So apparently, I am giving birth to my precious angel soon and despite that weird feeling in my pelvic area, I feel extremely excited to meet the little girl. I've been smiling a lot last night and when I woke up this morning.

I can't believe I'm going to be meeting her real soon! ♥

Being the bum that I am...

I began blog-hopping. I went to my old Blogger account (please forgive me for the pa-cute name and blog) and found old blog entries of people who were once connected to me. I started reading the entries one by one (yes, I have nothing better to do) and came across this entry that I should've read 5 years ago. The entry you're about to read is from a blockmate from college, Ian Emata.

I am convinced that this mind thing really works.

I was thinking of asking a friend from college to (photo) shoot me while I am pregnant for months now, actually. Only problem I had was I thought she was too busy so I didn't tell her yet that I am pregnant.

A few hours ago, she told me she knew from a friend that I was pregnant and told me she wanted to do a photo shoot with me before I was due.

I wasn't even the one who asked her to have that photo shoot. I was just thinking of asking her then before I had the chance to, she volunteered herself!

Wow. This is really, really... WOW! The power of the mind... WHEW!

Hopefully, everyone gets to use their minds to turn their lives around ASAP so the world will be a better place to live in.

Now, to use this power on Lotto! ☺

Wow. My name with an "H" in it.

You know what the more surprising thing for me is, though? This is the baby girl of one of my classmates way back in grade school. I don't want to think that he named it after me because that would be really freaky. But, see? The same spelling, except hers has an "h" conveniently placed after the letter "g" probably for the kid's nickname (Leigh).

Damn. This really came as a surprise. I didn't expect this. At all. Especially not from him. Eww. Please.
