I'm feeling so good!

I'm feeling so good.
I know that I would.
Been taking care of myself like I should.
'Cause not one thing can bring me down.
Nothing in this world's gonna turn me around.

I knew reading back on my previous posts will bring me positive vibes. :)

One thing's for sure: I made December 2012/January 2013 Ale really, really, REALLY happy. Law of Attraction...you really don't disappoint! Konting tiyaga lang ang kailangan...

Also, thanks to Jennifer Lopez for today's song.

Relapse.

Why does tonight have to end?
Why don't we hit restart and pause it at our favorite parts?
We'll skip the goodbyes.
If I had it my way, I'd turn the car around and runaway, just you and I.

Pare Ko by Eraserheads

Not bragging or anything but I can't recall one other time when I actually pounded my chest because of a song/guy as much as I did when this song played in Tides the morning of my birthday. Seriously.

"Ba't ba ang labo niya? Di ko mapinta. Hanggang kailan maghihintay, ako ay nabuburat na..."

New playlist

I was chatting with my good friend, Wey, a while ago and we came up with this particular playlist:
  • Wag Mo Na Sana - Parokya Ni Edgar
  • Kung Ayaw Mo Huwag Mo - Rivermaya
  • Alumni Homecoming - Parokya Ni Edgar
  • Listen - Stonefree
  • Rebound - Silent Sanctuary
  • Halaga - Parokya Ni Edgar
  • Waiting In Vain - Bob Marley/Bamboo
  • It's The Falling In Love - Michael Jackson
  • Can't Help But Wait - Trey Songz
  • Knock You Down - Ne-Yo, Kanye West and Keri Hilson
  • Tadhana - Up Dharma Down
  • Payphone - Maroon 5 feat. Wiz Khalifa
  • Migraine - Moonstar 88
  • Shiver - Coldplay
  • Wonderwall - Oasis
Found the common denominator? Good. Now, will you so kindly suggest songs I can add to my new playlist? :) Thanks!

Also, can I just say that Listen is a jerk song?! I hate the guy singing the song. No, not the vocalist. Who he's supposed to be, that's the one I hate. JERK!

New favorite workout (old) song.

I don't even know if my title makes sense but what the hell...

While working out earlier today, I've stumbled upon Cassie's song, Me and You, after a long long time. I was so into the beat while working out, I didn't realize how relevant the lyrics are to my life right now. After cooling down, I actually listened to it again and thought "Hmmm... Interesting." Not that I can totes relate to each and every word of the song but, yeah. It's basically the perfect song.

"I was waiting for you to tell me you were ready. I know what to do if only you would let me..."

Also, once I get my rockin' body, I'd wear what Cassie's sporting in the video while working out. That's the dream!

#LaslasNaFriend

Yet another depressing song c/o the Philippine music industry.

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

Malas mo, ikaw ang natipuhan ko...

"Di mo lang alam ako'y iyong nasaktan o baka sakali lang maisip mo naman puro siya na lang; sana ako naman..."

I love the fact that there are a lot of OPM songs that are about being friendzoned.

Patay kung patay.

I know this is a cheesy late 90s/early 2000 song and it's not exactly the best boy band song ever but it captures what I'm going through right now:

PS. My heart was literally hurting while this was playing. Totoong literally ah, not Robin Scherbatsky-literally.

The Chito Miranda x Rico Blanco Collaboration

I'm not really a fan of alternative music or any music that includes guitar riffs or drum solos but the OPM scene has always been an exception. Okay, maybe the OPM scene back in the 90s and a very few songs released in the past decade. I just can't stand all the "Neseye ne eng lehet..." and "Boom karakaraka" that have been playing in almost every radio station I (don't) listen to and every music store I enter. I'm not hating on Daniel Padilla and Vice Ganda or anything. I mean, if you follow me on Twitter, you'd know how I get kilig over Daniel Padilla and the way he looks at Kathryn Bernardo whenever they're on TV and how I am a huge fan of GGV. It's just that they don't make Pinoy songs the way they used to...

Enter Chito Miranda and Rico Blanco. They've been exchanging tweets about hanging out in Rico's place, cooking up something, but disguising it as "trip-trip lang", nothing to get excited over but I know I am not the only one who thought "Yeah, right, wala lang" because they're friggin' Chito Miranda and Rico Blanco! What's so "wala lang" about them, right? I KNOW.

So anyway, here's the "trip-trip lang" track they were talking about:

It's called Panahon Na Naman ng Harana and it's some sort of a mash-up of Harana and Panahon Na Naman - obviously - but there's nothing "trip-trip lang" about it. I mean, like I said, they're friggin' Chito Miranda and Rico Blanco!

"Ain't nothin' you can say to me that can change my mind, I gotta let you go now. And nothin' will ever be the same, so just be on your way, go 'head and do your thing now..."

- All I Have, Jennifer Lopez feat. LL Cool J, 2003

Don't wanna try no more.

Sunday is cleaning day in the Tejada household and after 349871893479817232 years, I decided to join in the chaos that is my mom running back and forth like a chicken with its head cut off. While wiping dust off of my desk - I haven't been living in my room for the longest time - this song came on the iPod. I literally stopped cleaning and just listened to it. One word: SAPUL.

This completes phase numero uno of Oplan ItAin'tOver, if you know what I mean... (You probably don't but my friends [My Humps] do.)

Na-Torete na!

This is one of the songs from that unforgettable night. *sigh*

Akala ko nung una, may bukas ang ganito.
Mabuti pang umiwas pero salamat na rin at nagtagpo.

#MayWish: Isa pang pagkakataon, please.

Elmo's definitely got the moves.

Having a kid has a lot of perks and it includes finding funky children's songs like this one:

I play this at least twice a day, and yes, even without Brianna. I even sing-along to it. Sorry I'm not sorry.

This song reminds me of T-Pain, though, I don't know why...

I have completely forgotten about my obsession with Justin Timberlake...

...'til my very good friend, Kat, posted this video on my Facebook wall. Can I just say that Like I Love You is my all-time favorite (solo) Justin Timberlake song and my favorite versions of JT has got to be the bald Justin Timberlake, way back NSYNC - Gone days and the year when he teamed up with T.I. for Dead and Gone. Yes, I love my JT rugged.

Also love his new single, Suit and Tie. It has an old school RNB feel to it. Maybe Malia's right. RNB might make a comeback after all of the house/party music we've been having these past few years (Chris Brown also released some new songs that sound so RNB, I can probably forgive him for releasing Yeah 3x and let's not forget Ne-Yo's latest album, R.E.D.). Until that day comes, I'll stick to my (over, over, overplayed, not-updated-at-all) playlist.

Migraine.

"Nahihilo, nalilito... Asan  ba'ko sa'yo? Aasa ba'ko sa'yo?"

I really love Moonstar88's Migraine. I love those three lines especially because they capture everything that I want to ask two guys in (?) my life right now but the questions, of course, are of different context.

Anyway, the whole song, I want to ask one of the two guys. Go figure.

Suntok sa Buwan is THE song, okay?

I know I said here that Akap is THE song but I stand corrected. It's Session Road's Suntok sa Buwan! Every damn word in the song is perfect to what I am going through right now. Ugh! How can I not have this in my laptop?! If I didn't have that random LSS today, I wouldn't have realized that it's THE song and I wouldn't have known that I don't have a copy of it.

Hindi ko 'to gusto pero wag kang lalayo...
Ka-ka-ka-kaboom!

Heard this while on our way to Tagaytay a few days ago and thought: "Ito yun e."

Sasamahan ka sa tamis. Sasamahan ka sa pait. Sasamahan ka sa dilim. Sasamahan ka hanggang langit.

I don't know how to feel about Nicki Minaj

I have a love-hate relationship with Nicki Minaj. On the one hand, her entire look annoys the hell out of me. I mean, if you look at most of her photos online or if you've seen her music videos and TV appearances, you'll get what I mean.

On the other hand, her songs and collaborations are really dance-y and catchy, which I like...a lot. Superbass is overplayed and I honestly wouldn't want to hear it again anytime soon but at one point, I really, sincerely liked listening to it. Sort of like how I used to like (and got tired of) Flo Rida's Low. Now that I think about it, it has been years since I last listened to it so I might enjoy listening to Low again...

Anyway, I've been singing Starships in my head for the past 5 days and I can't seem to get it off. A part of me wants it there and another part of me wants it out because I might get tired of it.

No, this song isn't for someone...at least at first it wasn't.

Okay, I loved this song the first time I heard it years ago and I admit, I didn't actually understand what the song meant then. I just thought the melody's sweet and Ronnie Liang's voice sounds nice here, compared to the other songs I've heard him sing in Pinoy Dream Academy.
I searched for the lyrics just a few minutes ago and realized what the song actually meant. Nakakatawa. The first verse and refrain goes:
Minamasdan kita
Nang hindi mo alam
Pinapangarap kong ikaw ay akin
Mapupulang labi
At matingkad mong ngiti
Umaabot hanggang sa langit
Huwag ka lang titingin sa akin
At baka matunaw ang puso kong sabik
How funny is that? I've thought of one person after reading the lyrics of the song and it made me chuckle. If I were in college, I bet this would've been my song for him.

(Sorry if I seem too hung up with my college life lately. Blast from the past e.)
