Resolution Schremolution

So this year started a few days ago and up until now, I still haven't gotten my list of resolutions yet. This morning, I decided to kick the "habit" of formulating resolutions at the start of the year and just enjoy whatever life throws my way. Last year was pretty brutal and I beat myself up for not living up to a list so ambitious, my 6th grade adviser would've been proud. 2015 ended great, though, so I've been really thankful for that but, yeah... 2016 is the beginning of resolution-free New Years for me - not even "Be more optimistic/positive" - so yay for no expectations!

Bring it, Universe!

January 1, 2013 vs. January 1, 2014

I know, I know. I've taken up that relatively pricey PSI seminar 3 years ago and I should have let go of these kinds of programs but I've always thought of January 1 as the basis of how the days of the year will go. Although it wasn't always true in the past years, I still believe in starting my year right.

Last year's January 1 was the worst by far, having been called a gold digger for wanting a normal family life. I was bawling my eyes out until about 3 days after that. Despite the wild turnaround of events halfway through the year, I still consider 2013 a rather harsh year for all the heartaches it gave me but I'm thankful nevertheless because the permanent huge grin I have on my face in the past few months up until now wouldn't have happened if I didn't get my heart broken (twice!) last year.

This year, January 1 also ended with tears but not because of some kind of hurt. It was because I've never felt so much appreciation, support and love from anyone else before. Even the best of my exes didn't make me feel even half of what I'm feeling right now. It's like for the first time in my life, I finally know what it feels like to be a special someone and to be treated like one of those girls in the movies. It might seem shallow to some people but for me, it actually means a lot. I mean, I feel like a queen right now so I don't really care. Don't even get me started as to how he treats my daughter because I will bore the living wits out of anyone who's willing to listen. Of course, I'm still testing the waters as I don't want to suffer another heartbreak, especially from a friend from way back when.

Hopefully next year's January 1st is the same as this year's. I don't ever want to experience last year's January 1 again.

So excited for 2014.

2013 gave me a whole lot of things to be thankful for: successes, heartbreaks, accomplished goals, disappointing failures... I wouldn't have it any other way, yes, but I would also love for 2013 to end. I've grown so much this year - a lot of people can attest to that - and I can't wait to grow even more in 2014.

Happy New Year, everyone! Here's to an abundant 2014. Cheers!

It's never too late!

Updated January 26, 2014

Yes, it's never too late to post a budget wishlist. Something people can actually get me. Not that I'm expecting someone to give me something off the list but it wouldn't hurt to put them all out there, now, would it?

  • Portable charger (preferrably Philips)
  • Watch organizer (black, white or fuschia pink)
  • Portable speakers
  • Tablet casing (Samsung Galaxy Tab 2)
  • Phone casing (Samsung S Duos)
  • A bottle (or 10) of Jack Daniels, 1 liter
  • Cheetos Jalapeno... Pringles Jalapeno... Jalapeno Poppers... Anything jalapeno-flavored, actually.
  • Never Shall We Fail shirt
  • Neon pink v-neck shirt
  • Black leather everyday belt
  • Black and/or cream low cut Chuck Taylors (preferrably slip ons)
  • F21/Mango foldable sunnies (I'd ask for a pair of Rayban foldable sunnies but that's too expensive but, yeah...that's the dream!) (Edit: I got a Charles and Keith pair. )
  • CHRISTMAS HAM PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE

(Okay, I was lying. I expect people to give me everything on the list. I won't mind getting 'em after New Year's. KTNXBYE.)

Let's All Start the Year Right with Sulit.com.ph!

Being a believer of the Law of Attraction, I came to love making wish lists, vision boards and the like.  I might be 23 days "late" in posting my New Year's (material) wish list for some of you but as we always say, better late than never (applies to pregnancy scares as well).

So in true Aleigna Tejada fashion, here are my top 10 must-haves from Sulit.com.ph!

Oplan Balik-Alindog 2013

Last year, my thinspiration was Megan Fox. This year, I have a new one:

Miranda Kerr. She gave birth to her baby in 2011 and yet by the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in November last year, she looks like that! It might be a long shot for someone with genes like mine (mom's side of the family is 'chunky') but knowing that she had to put on some sort of hardwork for her body to look like that, that's motivation enough for me.

I hope my new thinspiration get me somewhere this year. Actually, Megan Fox as thinspiration for last year wasn't too bad. I got tons of "Ang payat mo!" and "Parang di naman mommy..." compliments from friends and acquaintances alike plus a year-end flirting spree/ego boost capped it all off but this year, I am aiming for tons of two-syllable damns and probably an indecent proposal from the guy I like.

Welcoming 2013 with arms wide open.

2012 would've been a big blah if November and December didn't turn out the way they did. November was the lowest point of last year but December proved to be the superhero and saved the day - err, year! If we were in a basketball game and were teammates, I would've patted 2012 hard on the back (and on the ass because basketball teammates always do that to each other and it looks fun) for the spectacular end-game performance. Come-from-behind win ang peg!

I am excited for 2013 despite not having set any goals (yet) and passing up on the resolutions. I take this as me, grabbing all the great opportunities that will be presented this coming year. I haven't done this in years and maybe this is exactly what I need to turn things around.

Happy New Year, everyone!
