Going YESSS, YAMAN with my 4 Pre-Loved Items!

I've been a member of OLX.ph (formerly known as Sulit.com.ph) since September 2012 and I've sold a lot of stuff over the years, including TONS of books and a whole lot of breastmilk bags that I didn't get to use.

Right now, my OLX.ph page has 5 items: our beloved CRV and these 4 items which, I hope, can find new owners who will love them as much as I did.

I've searched far and wide for this book (OA ko lang) but at the time I desperately wanted to read it, I can't afford a brand new copy. I resorted to the next best place to get goods (Sulit.com.ph!) and bought a cheaper copy from there. Now, I'd want to share with someone else the wisdom this book gave me so I'm selling it over at #olxph.

I bought this top from a friend probably a year ago. When I saw it from her stocks, I immediately wanted to have it. I mean, just look at the colors! I tried wearing it out a couple of times but then I resigned to the fact that I cannot, for the life of me, pull this top off. It doesn't jive well with my personal style to start with but that doesn't discount the fact that I actually wanted it when I saw it.

I got this water bottle from a store in Clark when Brianna was still a baby, swearing to myself I was gonna make her use this when she starts going to school. It's so pretty and so lady-like. I especially love the pearl details on the neck of the bottle (which can be detached). Anyway, fast-forward to 4 years and 700 million water bottles after, I took the bottle out of the storage and thought it would be such a waste to use it just once and forget all about it like the other water bottles I have in storage now so I'm now selling it.

I'm not really a perfume kind of girl. I get dizzy when I spray some on but that doesn't stop people from giving me perfumes when they come home from a travel. This one in particular was given to me by my tita. It smells really good, mind you, with that fresh, fruity scent. As much as it pains me to part with that scent, I need to sell it to save me from a major migraine.

Done, done, and done.

I am a full-time mom.

I am a full-time, home-based employee.

I am a full-time girlfriend.

I am a full-time friend.

I am a full-time daughter.

I am a full-time sister.

And I am planning to put up a business soon *cross fingers*.

On top of all that, I am planning for a (relatively) bright future that includes Brianna, myself, and two more people.

Although it's important to do what I can do now for that future I desire and keep myself (and everyone else) aligned to that final vision, most of the time, all I want is just to take a break from all of my responsibilities and obligations but we all know how impossible that is.

For me, taking that kind of break means dying for a while and I can't afford to die even for just a second. There's a lot that needs to be done and a lot to be taken care of. I know that I should be delegating jobs to the people in my life but since I want everything done right the very first time, I shoulder a lot of the responsibilities. This also limits the frustrations on my part.

Most of the time, though, I feel like I am going to lose my mind because of all the things that are in my head. Maybe the reason is I don't know how to effectively organize my thoughts and do things all at the same time. So if God and the Universe are listening to me right now, I hope to unlock the skill of being able to multitask.

I cannot multitask to save my life. I can't even fall asleep and listen to music at the same time. That's how bad I am at multitasking. Which can get really, really bad during PMS season 'cause I can't focus on anything but having PMS. Having all those responsibilities I've mentioned earlier call for the multitasking skill not to gain some sort of recognition from other people but just so I can stay sane at the end of the day because it can get pretty cray-zey.

Right now, though, I still can't master this skill so the next best thing for me? Taking a break. Just sitting on one corner, reading a book or watching Friends (for the 1329785678124659th time). Having a break doesn't only give my mind some rest; it also reminds me of my goals and how I should act in accordance to those goals so when I get back into action, I know exactly what to do.

Now, how can I start mastering the art of multitasking?

Transformers 4: Age of Extinction 4DX Screening with KitKat #breakommendation

I was just saying how I needed a break from it all and Nuffnang and KitKat's invitation for the 4DX screening of the Transformers 4: Age of Extinction couldn't have come at a better time. It was held at the new Bonifacio High Street Cinemas, located at the new Bonifacio High Street building which isn't completely done yet.

(Commercial: To all Friends fans out there, a Pottery Barn store will open in this new wing.)

(That famous apothecary table might be available in the store along with the bird cage and that room divider in Phoebe and Rachel's apartment. Yay, right?)

Anyway, the movie house looks exactly like how other Ayala cinemas look like but the ticket booth kinda took my breath away for a second.

I think that amazed look on my face (that probably all the Nuffies saw) is proof that I haven't really gone out for a long while.

Upon registration, the Nuffies gave us food stubs for a couple of sandwiches from Quiznos for dinner.

Can I just say I hate how my hips look here.

After dinner, we went back to the cinemas to register with KitKat this time.

The girls manning the booth were really friendly and patient with everyone, I was thinking I can't do what they do…plus, they were a lot younger than me so I probably won't get hired in the first place. They gave away loot bags that have different kinds of KitKats and other freebies inside.

(Another commercial: While we were waiting for the movie to start, we were watching people fill their cones with ice cream at Family Mart. I've got one thing to say about that: Students are NOTORIOUS when it comes to all-you-cans.)

After all the waiting - we were scheduled to watch the last full show - we all went inside the 4DX cinema. It looks like your typical cinema except I thought that the seats were more comfortable.

When the movie started, the seats started moving ever so slightly that it makes you think if it really is moving. To be quite honest, the whole "ride" made me really dizzy that by the time Optimus Prime and the rest of the gang were "rolling out", I was already sitting on the aisle. I also had to take the shades off, too, because I was pretty sure that's what triggered my dizziness. The boyfriend sat with me on the aisle until the movie ended which I found really sweet (Oo, mababaw lang ako). There were also other environmental effects like cold wind and this scent that smells really bad whenever a car/robot appears on screen. There was also this thing that poked us on the leg that made me jump.

I can't believe I actually sat through an entire boy-movie without falling asleep considering the fact that I wasn't able to sleep in the afternoon and I had a few beers in me. Actually, I've been watching a whole lot of boy-movies lately so I'm proud of myself. I enjoyed the movie despite the dizziness. I just thought maybe it kinda lacked some kind of story… I'm saying that probably because I haven't seen the movies before that one so my opinion doesn't count.

Anyway, that was a fun experience. Not only because there's free chocolates but because it's my first time to actually attend a Nuffnang screening.

Incidentally, it's my first actual movie date with the boyfriend because we usually do movie marathons at home instead of going out because we think it's much sweeter that way.

Thanks to KitKat and Nuffnang for the opportunity to actually see Transformers 4: Age of Extinction in the new 4DX theater without spending a single peso…and for the free chocolates, too, of course!

Supermommy Memory Please!

I was never a memorization kind of student and obviously, I carried that skill - or lack thereof - over to when I graduated. It became worse when I had my daughter. Why? She was delivered through C-section and as most moms and moms-to-be know, memories of CS mommies deteriorate further after the operation. Anyway, once, I just wanted to reheat food from the fridge, I totally forgot about it and burned the food.

I had to resort to different methods to help me remember things:

Although there are more software, applications, and instruments to help me, it sometimes feels like I still need MORE to help me boost my memory. Usually, taking a (KitKat) break does the job for me. Clearing my head reminds me of the things that I need to do and rids my mind of the nonsense that I usually store in my head. So if I were to unlock a special skill, it's definitely the "never forget any detail" skill.

I love details; they remind me to be thankful despite whatever frustration a big situation brings me. Plus, if you remember to do the small things, you will never screw up the output. I believe that those apply to something as big as relationships to menial things such as art projects.

Getting this skill will make me the Supermommy I've always wanted to be. It's especially important now that I'm a stay-at-home mom/yaya and since I've recently landed that full-time, work-from-home job.

Okay, now I need that KitKat break. Reminding myself that I'm a full-time mom AND employee wore me out.

Keep Calm and Watch Movies

I have a confession to make: I am not fond of watching movies. At all. Which is quite ironic, considering I am a Communication Arts graduate. That doesn't mean, though, that I don't watch movies and I don't enjoy myself when I do. In fact, I've formed a theory for how I experience movies now: Since I don't watch a lot of it, the movies that I do watch blow my mind every. Single. Time. It doesn't matter if it's an actual mind-blowing indie movie or a super cheesy Star Cinema rom-com; it will still have me staring at the rolling credits by the end of the movie. (Which might be the biggest "movie violation" I've been doing, not paying attention to the closing credits)

In all fairness, I've watched a whole lot of movies for someone who isn't really fond of doing it. And like some mid-20, lovesick, fictional book character, there was one movie that started this on-again, off-again love affair with movies:

The first movie I remember seeing was the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie. I was a huge fan of the TV show version back then and who wasn't? It was probably the biggest foreign TV show that time; probably even bigger than how big Koreanovelas are now. Anyway, I remember forcing my dad to bring me to SM Southmall - which opened a month before Power Rangers was shown, if I'm not mistaken - to watch the movie because I totally didn't want to feel left out. It was a PG-7 movie and I've yet to turn 7 that time and I remember clearly how freaked out I was when we got in line for the tickets. I thought they'd figure out I was just 6 and reprimand me for even asking to watch the movie. I haven't thought that I had an adult accompanying me; I just thought they were going to kick me out of the theater. I don't remember how the movie goes now but I know I enjoyed myself so much because when my friends and I talk about it now, we agree that it was the highlight of our first grader lives.

I've watched a bunch of movies after Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie has opened that gate for me, mostly Star Cinema-produced ones (I'm a jologs at heart. Don't judge.) Although I can probably name you all the movies I've seen 'cause they're not that much. Now, though, I want to start watching movies again, thanks to the movie buff that is my boyfriend (Yes, I'm exactly the type of girlfriend who adapts to whatever it is my boyfriend is into. Watch How I Met Your Mother #TheWayYouWantIt!

I love watching TV. I decided to take up Communication Arts because I would love a job that allows me to work in TV or just to watch all the TV that I want.

I watch a whole lot of Filipino TV shows for a La Sallian and I actually enjoy them. I even get into screaming matches with the characters through our television set (I'm crazy like that). But I am not at all immune from the charm of American TV series. If anything, I talk about them here and on Twitter more than I talk about local TV shows only because I can relate to the characters of American TV shows more than I do the local TV show characters ("langit ka, lupa ako" type of situations are not really applicable to someone like me only because I'd rather not meddle with the rich and the famous...and as if they'd even notice me or anything).

My favorite TV series as of the moment has got to be How I Met Your Mother and I am quite thankful that our SKYcable DigiBox actually has 2nd Avenue and Star World where I can watch the show over and over again (even though I have the entire series up until the latest episode in my laptop AND my hard drive). This makes me wonder, though: Is there another cable channel that will allow me to catch old/new episodes of HIMYM? If so, I'd love to get it on our DigiBox. Luckily for me, SKYcable allows subscribers to add channels and packs that you like to the basic plan. So if there are other channels that air episodes of How I Met Your Mother, please please please, I beg you to tell me right away so I can add them to our current plan.

If I were given a chance, though, to watch How I Met Your Mother the way I want it, it has got to be on set and the whole production allowing interactions between me and the characters. There are a lot of times in the series that I wanted to hug the characters just to let them know that someone understands...especially Ted in the latest episode (s09e17). Oh my gosh, my feels! I just wanted to hug him, okay?! I don't even like the Ted-Robin tandem because Barnman and Robin are just ♥ but I was just so affected by one of the scenes in that episode okay!!! So, yeah, watching HIMYM on the set and allowing me to interact with them every once in a while has got to be the way I want to watch it.

I GoBigger and GoBetter with Globe

I know I have this love-hate relationship with Globe but here I am, still a Globe subscriber after - what? - 12 years of owning a mobile phone.

I was invited by Nuffnang Philippines' Thei Palijo to attend Flaunt It: The White Trunk Show that happened in The Loft @ Manansala, Rockwell Club last May 21, 2013.

It was an event that celebrates fashion and nutrition sponsored by Preview Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine and Nestle Non-Fat Milk. I was so ecstatic to go because it's supposed to be the first ever event I am attending as a blogger but lo and behold, I didn't make it because of some unforeseen incidents that were way beyond my control.

Anyway, setting all the negativity aside, I was all smiles when these came in this morning:
