What does "Fun Casual" mean?

I talked to a friend from my previous job and the attire at the wedding came up. She said that the bride - my former boss - wanted her guests to come in fun casual attire, with yellow, pink and orange as motif. Both my friend and I were confused with what fun casual meant so we both will be going in long, flowing dresses just to be safe. And since it is (sort of) a beach wedding, I guess it will be okay to wear slippers. She said casual, right? Slippers can dress down even the most extravagant attire. I think.

So I came up with these 2 pegs for what I'd want to wear to the wedding. Again, these are just pegs because the actual items cost more than everything I own. I am not being overly dramatic. A pair of one of those sandals cost 20 friggin' thousand pesos. I mean, really? ANYWAY...

What I might wear to the wedding (1)

What I might wear to the wedding (2)

So, what do you think? I am not a girly girl and I don't mix pieces well so I'm sorry if these are nakakaumay, at the very least.

How to do my hair and make-up, now that's a different story.

Note: I got the website Polyvore from http://heytherejillilah.blogspot.com.

Jill, naalala kita nung nakita ko 'to. (from Ella's Tumblr)

HELLO, LAW OF ATTRACTION! WE MEET AGAIN!

I was browsing through my own blog and saw this.

Yes, I browse my blog because I wanna see if I've been progressing in my personal life. So far, I am. Slowly. Slowly but surely, right?

Anyway, I've put up some ads here for some "passive" income. First things first. I put quotation marks because technically, you have to work for income to - well - come. Writing entries that are supposed to be relevant is the key. But since I own this personal blog, I can write whatever comes into my head and get paid for it. Hopefully.

So, as I've said, I put some ads here in my blog and saw this website advertised there.

Since I couldn't click on the ads myself (It's part of the terms and conditions. Yeah, I read those.), I typed it on my address bar and just followed what the website said. I don't know if this (it's a module about making money through your blog) actually works but I'm giving it a shot. You should, too. Of course, that is, if you're interested.

Does it make any difference?

I haven't heard the Philippine National Anthem for the longest time - I don't watch Manny Pacquiao boxing matches, okay? - let alone SING it.

This morning, I got the chance to experience a government office morning rites in PhilHealth Pasig Branch (to those who will be asking, it's located at the DAP Bldg., St. Francis Ave., Ortigas across Lourdes School of Mandaluyong) and naturally, they'd sing the National Anthem. So I put my right hand over my chest as I was taught in school and started singing. But having an attention span shorter than Brianna's, I started watching the people around me and noticed not everyone had their hands over their chests. This got me asking why.

I was taught in all of my years in school that whenever the Philippine flag is present in the venue or you can see it from where you are and the National Anthem is being played, you should have your hand over your chest. Maybe it's the righteous makabayan in me but I think they've been taught the same way I did whatever school they were from and since this is one of the few things you learn from school that you get to actually use in your life, you SHOULD use it as much as you could and make your parents' hard-earned money spent on your 17++ years in school (depends on how well you did, if your school has 7th grade and what course you took up) worth it.

Or maybe it's just me thinking about trivial matters because I really don't have anything better to do. Yeah. Let's go with that.

Aren't you too old for that?

Yes, Brianna's too old for those but I decided to put them on again because she keeps on snacking on her fingers and they probably are sore by the way they look.

Thumbsucking is normal for babies, according to Brianna's pedia but should be stopped early on for it is highly addictive. It's like cigarettes for babies. Her pedia said I should distract her from sucking her fingers by toys. I got her one of those jungle gyms but whenever she gets excited, she automatically puts her hands in her mouth. Yes, in it, not on it.

Anyway, this solution doesn't seem to work. She still has her fingers in her mouth as I type. But at least her hands won't look bruised anymore.

I need help on this issue, moms. Fo realz.

The perfect meal for this kind of weather.

The storm hasn't stopped since it started two days ago meaning it's time for some homemade champorado c/o Ate Thelma.

We had champorado for breakfast (and merienda) earlier today. Normally, I'd put milk and sugar in it. Today, though, I put flavored milk in my champorado.

Cowhead Strawberry Flavoured Milk! Yes! And it tasted real good!

It looked good, too, but you can't see it here since I had to edit the photo because it looks crappy if I don't.

So, anyway, after 2 minutes, my bowl looked like this:

Prolly the best homemade merienda I've had ever! Try it! It's really good!

I've been meaning to set this blog up months ago pa.

I was trying to get this thing started months before the baby girl was born. Didn't get to do it then because I got scared, thinking people might realize they are the ones I was referring to. Now, I couldn't care less. Though I'm writing the letters/notes/e-mails as "Dear YOU" so as not to embarrass them since it is a public blog.

If you want to visit it (still empty as of this moment), it's at http://totellyouhonestly.blogspot.com/.

Now, be gone!

This melted my heart.

I saw these in one of my high school teacher's Facebook account and I am soooo touched by it.

The woman was a teacher in Algebra in high school and all those years in HS, I thought she was already married. Then a few weeks ago, my sister broke the news that she was getting married and at first I thought she was just celebrating her 50th anniversary with her husband. The renewal of vows blah BUT NO! She was getting married for the first time! I was in total shock because back then, she was already old (which makes her oldER now) but she still tied the knot. And not just any wedding, IT WAS A CHURCH WEDDING.

Damn, my heart is soooo happy for her.

There's still hope.

This makes it official.

Bry and I were having the conversation whether I was invited to my former bosses' wedding on July a couple of weeks ago. I bought my dress for the event already even if I was not sure if I'm invited. It might sound assuming but my boss asked me to come but wasn't officially in their guestlist yet so I got a dress already even without the confirmation. I kept on bugging Bry to ask her if I am really invited (as I haven't picked out my shoes and accessories yet) and now, here's the confirmation.

So I guess I'm buying myshoes and accessories now... Help, please?

Toys for my baby girl...

I was browsing through the Lamaze website (http://www.lamazetoys.co.uk) because I personally like their toys - but are expensive here in the Philippines that's why I haven't gotten Brianna anything with that brand yet - and because I was looking for wrist rattles. So I found these:
Lamaze Gardenbug Wrist Rattles and Foot Finders
Lamaze High Contrast Wrist Rattles
I originally wanted to get Brianna the colored ones but I remembered that black, white and red (high contrast colors) are usually the colors the baby can see at a very young age. I still want the colored ones but I might get one of those high contrast ones.

I also saw this and immediately want it, too.
Contrast Bend and Squeak Penguin
Now, I have to save up for those toys... Or maybe ask for family and friends from the US/UK to buy 'em for me then ship it here. Yeah. The second one sounds good.

I don't know if I have MOM boobs or if my dress is just unflattering. Or both.

You be the judge.

Or maybe I wore the wrong bra. I really don't know why they look like that.

And it's true what they say. Your boobs are so heavy after pregnancy that your back slouches by itself like it has a mind of its own.

Y U NOT THE SAME?!

Dear Blogger,

Please sync the changes I made on the web version of my blog to its mobile version.

Thanks.

♥, Ale.

New photo and description.

New photo and description is up. I put the purple ribbon there because I am pro-RH. Still didn't let go of the "I AM GREAT!" statement because I want an affirmation with the picture. I would like to believe that I am engaged to be married, yes, even without the rock yet.

Please forgive the crappy screen shot. I guess the obsessive-compulsive part of my description is a lie.

New look.

I changed my blog's look just 'cause I have time on my hands since the baby girl is sleeping. I kinda went for the "matured" look because I got tired of the pa-cute look my blog previously had. Also chose a dark background because I've had it light since I first published it. What I love most is this Cardo font that Blogger now has in its default fonts. It's so girly without being overly pa-cute.

Now, I shall change my photo and my description...

EASTWOOD CONDO FOR RENT.

No, I am not mad. I just feel like typing it like that.

Anyway, if you're working in Eastwood and you're looking for a place there, my friend owns a unit in one of the condominiums there and it's for rent. If you're interested, click the comments link for this post and drop me a message.

Now, if only Blogger's dashboard has a mobile version too... That'll be the day, huh?

Sa totoo lang ah.

My husband is a sweet guy. He shows it differently and privately nga lang.

PS. Yes, I called him my husband - not hubby, HUSBAND - because our walang sawang matra is TO THINK IS TO CREATE.

ATTENTION: TOKYO TOKYO SM MEGAMALL

I decided I wanted to eat at Tokyo Tokyo in Megamall awhile ago when I realized I haven't had dinner yet. I was super hungry and it was almost closing time so I was rushing my meal. Halfway through, I noticed something in the veggies. Lo and behold, may insekto ang pagkain ko.

At talagang nakadikit siya sa gulay. I was going to talk to the manager about it but decided I'd bash them online instead. I mean, what'll they do? Replace my food? Kung dun din naman galing, di nalang.

Speaking of work...

My batchmate (highschool, college and pregnancy), Ran, now has work. As in work WORK. While li'l ol' me is here at home, looking for work online. I feel kinda like I'm not being responsible.

But come to think of it... When Brianna arrived, I've wanted to watch her and be able to witness all of her firsts. I guess I'm choosing being a housewife and fulltime mom over a working mom.

I hope this is the right choice for me. For Brianna. For Bry. For our little family.

This.

I need to get this (minus the quote underneath it).

I am back on business.

I woke up this morning feeling like I want to be productive so I decided to check on my oDesk account, which was accumulating digital cobwebs already. After this blog entry, I will start applying for jobs again and hopefully book jobs with better pay than the last ones I did.

But first, I need to get off of Tumblr.

I'm going here just for the freebies.
