Birthday Weekend

I was in a different place 2 weekends ago, thus the birthday request (solely related to him) to the universe in this post. I didn't really fully understand how lucky I am because I was so into the whole idea of us finally happening (and falling apart, all in less than one week and without him knowing anything...yes, that's possible) until my birthday weekend happened.

Yes, this weekend definitely topped that weekend. This birthday weekend made me realize that whatever it is I lack in attracting quality men, I make up for attracting understanding and supportive friends.

First of September

I have been looking forward to this month since July and I'm not even sure why and now, it's here: My birth month!

I am pretty sure I won't celebrate my birthday the whole month but I know it's gonna be the greatest month of 2013, starting it off with Oplan Balik-Alindog: Full Throttle. Then a week-ender with the usual college peeps in a new environment. First week palang, pakak na!

But the best thing about this month is the fact that this is the first time IN 10 FREAKIN YEARS that I will be celebrating my birthday as a single lady. How can I not be excited, right?!

Good God, I don't think I'll be able to sleep this whole month because I'm looking forward to every damn day of September!

Wake me up when September ends? More like keep me up til September ends. I know it doesn't make any sense but I'm so freakin' excited to find out what the Universe has in store for me this month, I most probably won't make any sense most of the time.

Woohoo! Let's do this!

Excited much?

Okay, for the record, I totally hate it when people add "much" to whatever it is they want to say but for the sake of this blog entry, I'm putting it there. Plus, I really am that much excited, okay?

It's about my birthday salubong this September. See? Still one long month (and a half) before my birthday comes but I'm already thinking about it. Like where I'm going to celebrate it and who I'm going to invite and all that. I don't have much of a budget - and friends, for that matter - so I don't know why I'm making a big deal out of this particular birthday. Maybe because it's my 25th birthday and that I'm sending Brianna to school next year, I don't know...

I just want him to be there. That's all. My girlfriends, him, beers and finger food on my birthday salubong (my birthday this year falls on a Sunday). That's it. Okay, maybe a slice of blueberry cheesecake would be nice but that's it. I'm not really someone who is fond of huge celebrations, anyway, so a chill nightout with the people I want to be with is enough.

An actual tugstugs nightout sounds good, too, but the music kids listen to nowadays makes my ears bleed so no thanks...unless it's, like, a throwback kind of night at the clubs where they play hiphop and RnB music from 5-13 years ago but until then, I'm settling with a chill nightout with friends.

The Green Monster

Nope, it's not a radio station. It's what I became when I learned that my parents actually gave my sister an iPhone 4s for her birthday. I know, I know... They believe that I am independent enough to pool money to get myself my own iPhone and yadda yadda yadda but I want to get one without spending any of my money, too. That or a tablet (iPad, iPad Mini, Google Nexus, Samsung Galaxy Note or Amazon Kindle Fire), which is way cheaper than an iPhone.

The first gift I received this month is from Zalora!

I woke up yesterday feeling rather moody and PMS-y and I have a proof of it but Zalora gave me a very early birthday present that I forgot about the rut I was in:

It made me rush to the Zalora Philippines website, swear. I had to browse their online catalogue to find me a perfect gift. Right now, I only have one item on my cart:

How pretty is this Brazilea flipflops design, right? I've always needed a new pair of flipflops for when we go out of town or for swimming and this is the first pair I've fallen in love with since this pair so I think I am buying it. Will definitely use my birthday discount when I purchase my pair.

Ah, September...

I'm not really fond of my birth month. Ever since I can remember, I haven't had a memorable birth month except 2006, when I turned 18 and someone went out of his way to make my birthday special and memorable and everything made my knees all wobbly up to now, 6 years later, only to have his heart broken by yours truly that very same day (yes, I am a man eater).

Anyway, long story short, I do not look forward to my birth month because nothing really significant happens... That and everyone seems to feel the need to post the title of that Green Day song everywhere. Seriously, guys, you need to get over it.

I am such a mess. Tatlong araw na.

Birthday gift for myself...

iPad vs. Kindle Fire

I still can't decide on which I want to buy on my birthday.

I want an iPad because let's all admit, when it comes to tablets, it's the best there is. Thing is, it's so expensive, I don't think I have the willpower to release that much money in one day. No, I do not (and will not...unless someone offers to pay for the bill every month) own a credit card because I don't trust myself with one so a credit card purchase is not an option.

The Kindle Fire is the next best thing...at least for me. It's smaller and it can be used as an e-book reader (just like an iPad, I know) and it looks decent. Best of all, it's way, way, WAY cheaper than an iPad. I can actually muster the courage to spend PHP10,000 in one day.

Why a tablet all of a sudden? Well, I came to the realization that a tab has become a necessity when you have a child. It's portable and interactive. What reason do you still need, right?

Gah. I'm torn. I hope someone gives me a tablet as a birthday gift instead so I can focus my energy and money to other things I want like granola bars or a car.

Birthday Wishlist 2012

I know we're just halfway through July but I got too excited to write my birthday wishlist for this year only because among all of my birthday wishlists (I only have one birthday wishlist posted here, the others are Christmas and New Year's wishlists), this is the only one that's realistic. Enough. Realistic enough. I think.
