How we spent Araw ng Kagitingan.

So instead of heading to Subic for a little beach action, we went to Binondo instead and got our shopping on. I was kinda hesitant to bring Brianna along at first because the last time I went to 1-6-8, I got so harassed that I swore never go there again...at least not without a good night's rest and someone I can be all bitchy to when I get tired. This time around, though, I was with my parents and my tita so I thought "Meh, what the hell". What I saw surprised me. The place is actually clean (and wide) enough for me to bring Brianna. Of course, holding onto the kids for dear life is still a requirement since the place was still packed with people but it is good enough to make them walk on their own. Bringing a stroller to 1-6-8 and 9-9-9 Mall, though, will not be a wise idea since the aisles are not that wide. We brought Brianna's but decided last minute not to bring it.

Anyway, it's kinda hard to find parking there if you don't know the place but luckily for us, a friend of Tatay's told him of this new mall beside 1-6-8 called the Lucky Chinatown Mall. It has 7 floors of huge and shiny parking spaces but when we arrived the mall at 9:30am, the parking spaces were already - probably - half full and the mall hasn't opened yet. It has the usual Mango, Adidas and Bon Chon branches where people who are fond of going to malls usually flock to but I had this feeling that people don't really spend time shopping there with 1-6-8 just across the (one-way) street.

I almost died when I started asking for the prices of anything in 1-6-8 and 9-9-9. They're super cheap compared to Greenhills and St. Francis Square! I forgot how cheap everything is there. I cursed myself for not going there before for any kind of shopping (Christmas, baby stuff, birthday gifts, summer, etc) after I've given birth. Clothes I'd usually buy for 500+ in GH only cost me 200 in 1-6-8 and quality sunnies prices start at 180. Even the Trunk Show have lower prices there! The pair of flats which "retails" at 650 I've been eyeing on their Facebook page only costs 200 pesos there. No, they aren't replicas. I mean, they're an online shop who designs their own shoes, for chrissakes.

Believe it or not, I just spent 700 pesos for the following:
  • A really cute floral top
  • A pair of white leggings
  • A Minnie Mouse towel
  • Disney Princess stamps
  • A Snow White balloon
  • A pair of cat's eye sunglasses
  • Snacks
  • A set of Hello Kitty toiletries

I was supposed to buy this chambray top but they didn't have it in my size. I was also gonna buy Brianna clothes but I didn't like the toddler clothes they sell there. If you're really picky when it comes to baby and toddler clothes, 1-6-8 and 9-9-9 aren't the places you're supposed to be scouring.

By 3pm, we decided to leave because we saw how heavy the traffic situation is outside and we cannot walk on the aisles without bumping onto anyone anymore.

When we were on our way to BGC from Binondo, I was struck by this realization that Manila is actually a beautiful place to walk around in...minus all the hooligans who want to cause harm, of course. So much history and interesting sights to see especially if you actually go to the heart of Manila. Super ganda!

Zalora Launches TVC Online

My favorite online shopping haven, Zalora Philippines, has launched their TVC online last January 8 over their YouTube channel. If you watch a lot of TV, though, you'd have seen it late last year because they've aired it over 4 cable channels for 2 weeks prior to the online release. I think I saw it on Star World twice. If you haven't seen it yet, here it is:

I can somewhat relate to the TVC. I mean, I've become really addicted to online shopping despite the lack of funds. Although no one in the household made a video about it, I keep on getting "Ano ba yan?! May delivery ka nanaman?!" comments from almost everyone that it's getting funnier and funnier as time goes by. What can I say? It's just so addicting!

Zalora.com.ph has a wide range of products, from clothes to home furniture. You can take advantage of the End of Season Sale that's happening in the store right now, too. While you're at it, you can use my voucher code, Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)], when you check out for discounts. Yes, you can use the voucher codes to get discounts for the sale items, too.

Happy New Year Sale in Zalora

I haven't been browsing the Zalora website in weeks because I was too busy eating and drinking but when I did, I was greeted by one of the more pleasurable surprises an online store could offer their patrons:

Yes, all customers will be getting a 13% discount on the items once you use the coupon code NEWYEAR13. A minimum purchase of Php2,500 is required for you to avail of this coupon code, though. It covers all of the products in the website except for sale items, electronics, beauty products and gift cards.

This Zalora sale came just in time for me because I really need the discount for my fitness/body/vanity goal this year. The universe really knows what to throw my way and when to throw it my way.

The universe and Zalora teaming up to help me with my goal. I love it!

There are two denominations that you can choose from: Php1,000 and Php5,000. The bearer of the gift card will be able to use them to purchase anything from http://zalora.com.ph. I'm a flats kind of girl.

I am one of those girls who you cannot - for the life of you - force to wear heels. Here are the only moments I wore heels:

  • Gradeschool grad (It was only an inch high but still)
  • BSA junior year (where I went from the ballroom to my then-boyfriend's car barefoot)
  • Highschool grad
  • That one time in the club (and it was one of the things I've regretted in my life so far)
  • A childhood friend's debut
  • A college friend's debut
  • Thesis defense
  • College grad
  • 3 corporate job interviews (I wore flats before and after the interviews)

See? That's not a lot because I really hate wearing them. Yes, they elongate your legs and make you look sexier but I really cannot take the stress it gives the heel of my feet and my legs. I'm all for comfort so whenever I window shop for shoes in Zalora, I immediately go to their flats section and so far, these are the ones that caught my eyes:

Red Sperry Top-Sider, grey Shoo In, Naturezza zippered sandals, J&M slip ons

These comfy flats and other different footwear of various brands - local and imported - are all available in Zalora. Prices start at Php89.75! For real! They also offer free shipping so if the price of the shoe you want to buy is at Php290, that's all you need to pay. Cash on delivery payment option is available to major cities in the Philippines. And yes, the rumor that they deliver within the day is true (depending on your location)!

If all that still didn't make you go to the Zalora website and shop your hearts out, then this will: type Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)] upon checkout to get discounts on your purchase.

So un-Fergie...

I am not fond of clothes shopping, as proven by my (really) small, boyish closet so I don't know where she got the clothes-shopping-all-night-long genes from.

I'm sorry for the poor photo quality. It was taken using the iPod Touch.

What's with the title? "I got it from my momma..." Get it? No? Never mind.

Cullen It Up this Halloween with Zalora

In line with the Twilight fever that's going to take over the world (AGAIN!) in a few days' time, thanks to the screening of Breaking Dawn part 2, and of course, Halloween, I present to you my Edward Cullen picks from Zalora:

Merger jacket, Collective.com roundneck shirt, Folded & Hung slacks, H2Ocean closed slip-ons, Gorgeous Cosmetics liquid foundation, La Bella styling gel, Le Posh Blvd. cologne

So, I guess the first four items are self-explanatory. I mean, whether or not you've watched even one Twilight movie, you'd know that Edward almost always look like that in the entirety of the franchise. What I want to focus on are the last three items.

The Gorgeous Cosmetics liquid foundation is for you to look pale, thus giving everyone off the vampire vibe. If you actually look pale then you can do away with this and probably the embarrassment of having to explain to your partner or your mom why you have liquid foundation in your room.

To achieve the Edward Cullen locks, you're gonna have to use a styling gel and this one from La Bella will be perfect for it.

Lastly, the Cullens are known for smelling good (at least for Bella) so this Le Posh Blvd. cologne should be able to help you achieve the vampire scent that draws your very own lamb in.

To finish off your look, grab a pair of orange contact lenses at your friendly neighborhood optical shop and you're all set to sweep girls off their feet in the Halloween party.

Before you go off seducing your next prey, take note that you can get all of these items at a much cheaper price if you use my discount voucher, Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)], upon checkout. Now, off you go.

Zalora for your baby

If you're a mom like me, you're probably guilty of window shopping and actual shopping for your baby's stuff because I know that I am. I would spend literally hours and hours of window shopping at malls, looking at sippy cups and cute, little Chuck Taylors. Story's not any different with online shopping except I spend even more hours online window shopping because it's just too convenient.

Zalora, one of the most convenient places to shop online, also has cartoon character brand, apart from your usual men and women's apparel in their catalog. Here are some of my mom picks:

The Dora the Explorer cup from Munchkin is a must-have wherever you go, especially if you have a toddler. All the running and the playing will tire your little one out and keeping a glass of water within arm's reach is a very, very wise idea.

This 2-piece Minnie Mouse sleepwear is a very comfortable pair that your baby can wear practically anywhere. If your home is anything like mine, there are times that you don't turn the aircon on due to financial reasons and this ensemble will keep your baby comfortable throughout the night.

Who doesn't love Hello Kitty? This lunch box will not only show everyone how you love the most popular cat in town, it will also show what great of a mom you are by always having snacks in tow and looking chic while at it.

To keep your baby's toothbrush clean, get a pair or two of these cute toothbrush holders that you can stick to your bathroom mirror so your baby will get even more excited to brush his/her teeth.

This Barbie watch will surely grab the attention of everyone in preschool. Be sure to point them to Zalora if their parents ask. *wink*

The convenience doesn't stop with window shopping in Zalora. Their payment options are testaments to that and you will get to experience that once you make the purchase. Added bonus to your already very convenient shopping experience? Well, just type the voucher Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)] upon checkout to get discounts on your purchase. Just make sure that it's around Php500 for you to avail of the discount.

Zalora for OC people

If you are as OC as me, you'd know the importance of organizers in your home. Okay, so I don't have my own place yet but that doesn't mean I don't keep my room and the other rooms at home clean because I totally do. Anyway, I was browsing through Zalora's catalog again (What's new?) and here are some of the organizers they are selling that caught my eye:

  1. This jewelry box will totally match my bedroom. My room's all white and pink and this will blend in easily. What I like about it is that it doesn't look like a jewelry box at all! There are other designs for this couch jewelry box that you can choose from, just click here.
  2. So technically, the next organizer is for the kitchen but I would love to use it to organize Brianna's toys. She has a lot of those smaller toys that are usually sitting on the bed's ledge and being the OC person that I am, I get annoyed whenever I see them. This will help me organizer her toys. Plus, moving them from our room to the living room will be so much easier with this one.
  3. The third item I picked out is a scarf organizer but since I have more belts than scarves, I'd probably use it to hold my belts more than my scarves.
  4. A watch organizer is a must-have for me not because I have a lot of watches but because I have a lot of bangles. This organizer will be perfect for me because I can see everything at one look and I need that because most of the time, when we go out, I'm always the one rushing.
  5. Lastly, I would love to own one of these suitcases just because. Yeah, I don't have an exact reason why I want one but I really do, okay.

So, I read on Twitter that there have been problems with Zalora's stocks and/or deliveries for some people. Personally, though, I haven't encountered any problems with them. All of my packages arrive the day after I order them and the stocks are flawless.

For a much, much better experience with Zalora, you could ask them via customer@zalora.com.ph regarding their stocks or the dimensions of the products you are interested in before you make the purchase and take advantage of their cash on delivery payment option which is now available to major cities (Metro Manila, Cebu, Tacloban, Ormoc, Zamboanga Del Sur, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cagayan De Oro and Davao Del Sur) in the Philippines.

For discounts, just type the voucher code Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)] upon checkout. This also applies to cash on delivery payments!

Print on print picks from Zalora.

If you knew me, you'd know how much I'm into plain, basic pieces. I have a whole lot of plain shirts as well as plain denims. So rarely will you see me wear something printed. That doesn't mean, though, that I wouldn't buy, say, a printed top. If anything, I have a couple of maxi dresses that have some tribal print on them. I just don't wear them that much because a.) it seems out of place wearing my kind of maxi dress with the weather we're having and b.) I don't really want to attract attention.

To prove, though, that I am not that much allergic with prints, here are my printed picks from Zalora:

Chictees Aztec print top, Accessorize floral clutch bag, Collective.com zebra print leggings, The Little Things She Needs animal print bangles, Punchdrunk Panda flats

If you don't want to look weird in front of a lot of people, don't wear all these at the same time. Or do. I am in no position to tell you what to do. I'm not fashionable in any sense. Plus, fashion has no rules so you can do whatever you want to do with it.

For discounts on your Zalora purchase, use the voucher code Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)] upon checkout. Now, be gone!

If I were a boy, I'd still shop at Zalora.

I'm not a girly girl but I do love a well put-together guy. I don't shop for myself - not for long amounts of time, anyway - but I can spend hours looking at men's clothes. I also tend to "dress up" my boyfriends in the past and I know they looked good when I was the one dressing them up.

I am no stylist nor anything remotely close to being fashionable but there's one look that I know every girl has swooned over at least once in their lives:

Anyway, before I ramble on on how hot Zac Efron is in this movie, here's my 17 Again Zalora picks for those males who want to look mighty fine like this handsome specimen right here:

Merger jacket, Crimson white shirt, Mossimo sunglasses, Crocs sneakers, Dr. Denim jeans

Channel your inner Zac Efron with Zalora Philippines! Use my discount voucher Aletotski0 [Aletotski(zero)] upon checkout to get discounts on your purchase.

I sometimes wish I were an artista.

Or a fashion blogger or something. I am currently obsessed with shopping and I don't like it because money don't just fall on trees. I would love for clothing companies to supply me with clothes and shoes and bags and accessories that I won't probably use after that one time I used them.

This just proves I spend a lot of time online, reading blogs and tweets (and chismis).

Edit: Winning giveaways and promos would be great, too!

I think I spend too much.

I am a mom who should be saving up for a house and a car and a wonderful wedding and I think I spend too much. Just a while ago, we went to Megamall and I was just supposed to buy one of those strap-y Velcro stuff for my cables, tampons and maybe a bag of chips or two but noooooooo. Instead, I bought these:

I got these from the 88-peso store in St. Francis Square. I got a huge ass hanger and I don't even know why. It currently holds my towel and Brianna's towel and I think it looks awesome in our room. I got triple AAA batteries for my cordless mouse. The Sesame Street playing cards are just way too cute to ignore. Damn, I hate those kinds of places.

We crossed the street and again, I had the urge to give my money to the number one department store in the Philippines and I did. I got Brianna that inflatable pool because let's admit it, a child's summer won't be complete without those inflatable pools. The Sun broadband was just something I needed to get and I just got it without thinking today. The pink sippie cup? Just 'cause. Most favorite buys for today? The denim skirt that I have been taking forever to actually buy and I don't know why and this blue slim wallet that breaks all the pink inside my purse.

Uhm. What's the point of this post again?

Wednesday, March 7, 2012

Finally!

I'm so sorry if I seem so excited for these rather plain-looking lippies (even if I'm a self-professed tomboy) but I've been eyeing these over at Digtital Traincase's Multiply shop since forever. I always, always was a bit too late in ordering these two specific colors at their shop that I have to endure weeks (felt like months, really) of checking my Multiply account all the time when yesterday, I saw that both colors were still available:

I couldn't choose between the two (and I was getting a bit paranoid since the NYX round lipsticks in their website sell like pancakes) because I wanted both so I bought them both, which isn't too bad because one stick just cost me a hundred and fifty pesos.

(I haven't tried both of them on but once I do, I will update this post.)

Digital Traincase has all sorts of make-up and make-up paraphernalia in their Multiply shop so if you want to buy high-quality make-up for an affordable price, check their shop out. It's at http://digitaltraincase.multiply.com/.

Lalaki bako?

I suddenly had the urge to splurge all my (really, really, REALLY) hard-earned money and buy shirts that I probably won't wear more than twice and then I realized while browsing through catalogues that I want men's shirts instead of women's. I mean, I don't like the fit of baby tees so I always end up looking at the men's section and find what I like there. Most of the times, too, I like the designs for men's shirt than for women's.

I also went to a high school classmate's website in Multiply to check out what she's selling now and when I saw wedges and all those girly high-heeled shoes, I closed the window.

Am I a man trapped in a woman's body? Why don't I appreciate girly clothes/shoes?

Don't get too carried away, Ale. If it's any consolation, you started wearing bracelets and bangles this year. And you love (rugged) bags. And you're growing fond of dresses. And the fact that you love (window) shopping online a lot means you're a girl.

Yes, I am convincing myself that I am indeed a girl.

I am not a fan or anything...

...but these are sooooo freakin' adorable that when I got a hold of them, I went straight to the cashier. No bull.
