First ever Grand Baby Fair experience

So I didn't get to attend the members only soft opening of the Grand Baby Fair at the SM Megamall Mega Trade Hall as well as the first two days as I would have liked but I did attend the last day. It's my first time ever to have attended such a fair that caters exclusively to the babies and it is my first time ever to have attended the Grand Baby Fair because I was admitted to The Medical City during the last Grand Baby Fair.

Anyway, I didn't know what to expect and was originally going to buy just a bag of diapers and those goodie bags they give out but when I got there, it was like a mommy's shopping haven! Despite the overwhelming number of attendees, I got to enjoy myself and I'm pretty sure Brianna had a fun time, too, with all those people she saw there.

Here are the items we got the baby girl from the Grand Baby Fair:

We got her this Evenflo BabyGo Travel seat that can be folded and be brought anywhere you want to bring it. It is extremely light weight and portable because it has an integrated carrying bag that will make it easier for the one who's carrying it. When I first saw it, I couldn't let it go (there were limited stocks) and I just had to get one. I asked the guy who works for the event to get be a much bigger cart - I only got those ones that hold two shopping baskets - so it could accommodate this. I asked for the grandparents to pay for it as their gift for the little girl. They agreed to it. Hee.

I also got her this cute and adorable drawer which now holds her clothes. Of course, not all of her clothes fit there so I still had that separate plastic organizer with all her other clothes. This was the last stock in the Owen stall during the last day of the Grand Baby Fair so naturally, I had to get it.

My mom also got this all-too-adorable Kiddy Bin-Stool by Kids Kit from one of the stalls in the Grand Baby Fair. It is a chair, a stepping stool and a storage bin all rolled into one. It's currently storing some of Brianna's toys and is happily sitting in our family room.

These were the only ones I was originally gonna get from the Grand Baby Fair but what can I say? It is hard to control yourself when everything is 70% off!

This is the best bargain of all for me, though:

The goodie bag full of, well, goodies! I got two bags because my parents had to pay for the Evenflo BabyGo Travel seat and I paid for the rest so some of the items in the goodie bag came in two. I always feel this rush when I get loot bags. A bag probably have PHP500 worth of goodies in them and everything's for free! I love it. My ultimate favorite goody is the Avent VIA Cup.

I would love to experience that again and again and again. I am definitely looking forward to the next Grand Baby Fair! Hope we see you there!

That's what it's all about!

Trish and I watched the press run of Rivalry: Ateneo - La Salle The Musical last night at the Meralco Theater. Upon entering the Lopez building lobby, you could already pinpoint which ones were La Sallians and which ones were Ateneans. La Sallians just had to come in green. Not La Salle shirts or anything literal. They - which includes me - were just in green. Ateneans...well, they had this "air" to them and I think we all know what I'm talking about and no, I'm not trying to pick a fight. Let's put it this way: Atom Araullo's father (who happens to be an Atenean) said in the press con that they walk like they have apples stuck in their underarms.

Anyway, upon entering the theater, I already noticed how the set looked like and immediately thought "Sound of Music's was..." and then stopped. Tried my best to take my mind off the production of The Sound of Music - which was extravagantly done, by the way - to appreciate the minimalist approach to theater design by this musical. Got over it a few minutes before the show started. Thank you, PSI.

The show was great! I am not just saying that because I am a La Sallian. I am saying that because you'd get to see and experience how intense it is to be a part of these two communities come UAAP season, or in this play's case, the NCAA (FYI to those who don't know, La Salle and Ateneo were originally part of the NCAA).

Photo taken from Athena Tibi's Facebook page.
The cast is superb! I especially like the Tommy character (naturally) because he is the La Sallian and I love his personality in the play. Plus, I love the fact that his hands are always tucked to the pockets of his jacket like that. I have this prejudice that all La Salle varsity players do this. Hee.  I don't know who exactly is the one portraying Tommy but what I do know is he's an Atenean. To be honest, he made a convincing La Sallian.

The Knoller in the red cardigan, Reena, is the lead female role and she is my high school bud, Athena. We sat next to each other during the entrance exam and since then, even if she didn't pursue studying in St. Paul, we still don't forget to add one another in all social networking platforms. She did great considering this is her first lead theater role. One of the press people even commended her performance.

Obviously, I won't spill all the details here but I'll say this: I was kinda hoping that they'd end up together but they don't.

Anyway, the second half of the play was where they spilled the beans on how the rivalry started. Was about to tell Trish "Ah, ganun pala yun..." when I saw that she was asleep. Yes, she chose to sleep that very moment when one of the characters was explaining how the feud started. Galing ng timing mo, iha.

You'd feel the school pride after the play. You can feel it from the La Sallians, the Ateneans and the Iskolars.

If you want to know "what it's all about" and why UP is suddenly mentioned here, you'd have to watch Rivalry. Here are the ticket details (available at Ticket World) once again:
Orchestra Center P1,699.50
Orchestra Side P1,339.00
Loge-A P1,030.00
Loge-B P978.50
Balcony-A P824.00
Balcony-B P618.00
Rivalry will run shows starting today until March 11, 2012 at the Meralco Theater with 8pm shows from Wednesday til Saturday and 3pm shows during the weekends.

This is one helluva show. Don't miss it.

Now, who wants to give me tickets to the PBA Ateneo-La Salle dream game on February 5?

What kind of Dragon are you? - Globe Business

I've seen Bianca Gonzalez tweet about the What Kind of Dragon Are You? link a few times before but didn't take the test until yesterday, when I accidentally clicked it on the Yahoo homepage while logging in to my account. I thought of answering it thinking "What the hell, it's free anyway". This came up after:

I think they got everything right except for the "slow to anger". I am short-tempered but I am trying to not be one because I know how annoying that can be.

Anyway, I saw the chance to win a Nokia phone just now. I hope I win!

Baby Company Grand Baby Fair Year II - Up to 70% Off on Selected Items! (Jan. 27 to 29, 2012)

Since, I didn't get to go last year - I was admitted to The Medical City just in time for this - I will be going on the first day of the Baby Company Grand Baby Fair Year II!

Daddy Bry bought our (overused) stroller and (underused) crib at the Baby Company Grand Baby Fair's first year last year and we are so grateful that such a sale happened because we got these two for a really low price (which we apparently needed considering the rates of The Medical City) and a whole lotta loot from it. I will definitely be here on the first day of the sale.

See you mommies - and cutie patootie wittle babies - there!

I think Brianna's yaya is has it easy.

It's my first time EVER to have a yaya in the house. I grew up with a kasambahay who does all the chores, yes, but a nanny that's sole purpose is to look after me or my siblings, no. My problem is I don't know if I am being to lenient on Brianna's yaya but whenever Brianna sleeps, I let her sleep too. I also don't reprimand her that much if some of the things she does (that doesn't affect Brianna) is not to my liking. I need help with managing a yaya. What should I do and what shouldn't I do?

Ooh-wee!

Trish and I are officially watching Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical. I got these tickets from a buddy from high school (Hello, Athena Tibi! Thanks!) who's part of the cast. I don't know how to feel going into a "Press Night" viewing. I am a writer though I don't really consider myself as "Press" but here we are! Anyway, I should be worrying more about what to wear for this occasion. Is there a dress code for Meralco Theater?

If you're interested to watch Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical at the Meralco Theater, here are the ticket details for their shows:

Orchestra Center – P1,650
Orchestra Side – P1,300
Loge A – P1,000
Loge B – P950
Balcony A – P800
Balcony B – P600
You can get your Rivalry: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical tickets from Ticket World or from dropping a message in the comment box. Weeeeee! Kamown, let's watch and know the root of all evil that spawned the feud between La Salle and Ateneo.

Grateful for clients who appreciate my work. ♥

I met Alain Delon on 9gag. (He's the dude)

To those of you who don't know, this man right here inspired my dad to name me "Aleigna". Apparently, grand dad loved this French actor so much. This man also Law of Attraction-ed Bry to our family, me thinks...

See what I did there? ☺

Lalaki bako?

I suddenly had the urge to splurge all my (really, really, REALLY) hard-earned money and buy shirts that I probably won't wear more than twice and then I realized while browsing through catalogues that I want men's shirts instead of women's. I mean, I don't like the fit of baby tees so I always end up looking at the men's section and find what I like there. Most of the times, too, I like the designs for men's shirt than for women's.

I also went to a high school classmate's website in Multiply to check out what she's selling now and when I saw wedges and all those girly high-heeled shoes, I closed the window.

Am I a man trapped in a woman's body? Why don't I appreciate girly clothes/shoes?

Don't get too carried away, Ale. If it's any consolation, you started wearing bracelets and bangles this year. And you love (rugged) bags. And you're growing fond of dresses. And the fact that you love (window) shopping online a lot means you're a girl.

Yes, I am convincing myself that I am indeed a girl.

Here's a sneak peak to Brianna's 1st birthday party. ♥

Weird Tumblr spammers

I posted something on my Tumblr a few days ago but only got to see these yesterday.

I don't know if someone really takes these stuff seriously... All they got from me was a laugh.

Slapping

Brianna has this habit (yeah, turned into a habit already) of slapping whenever she's annoyed or she can't get what she wants and she's barely one year old! I don't know where she learned to do this and I don't intend to know anymore. All I want to know is how I will be able to stop her from doing it. My mom always tells her "NO!" and I am already getting tired of hearing it. Plus, as much as possible, I don't want Brianna's mind to adapt to the term "no" because she might end up not taking chances in the future. Yes, programming starts very early in life that's why I want to "program" Bree positively, not negatively.

I know that there is a positive way to remove this habit of Brianna's but I don't know what it is exactly.

Trike (back) ride + iPhone camera = Awesome photo

I took a tricycle going to the bank this afternoon and I got to sit on the back ride again. A first in 2 long years that I just had to take a picture. Took one of my (hideous) feet and this happened.

It looks so awesome. I didn't edit anything except for the watermark. I didn't expect for it to come out that way. It's well-lit pa! Galing talaga...

I WANT TO WATCH THIS!

This will be the most awesome dream game ever and I won't be able to watch it but would really want to! Can somebody tell me what time this is going to happen? I might just be able to work it out...

Late realization: Inuman with college friends is tentatively scheduled the same date! How can this be?! I am thankful that Brianna's birthday is jam packed with great events but how can I work this out?! Damn...

Sana ma-move 'tong dream game. Sana lang talaga.

RIVALRY: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical

A friend tagged me to this video in Facebook a couple of weeks ago:

She probably thought I'd be interested in watching it since I studied in DLSU. At first I was kinda reluctant because the way I saw it, it's gonna be something like High School Musical but with the blues and the greens instead of red. After that mean prejudice I had, I watched the YouTube video and turns out, the setting of this story will be the 60's which got me curious and asked "What the hell happened in 1968 for the play to be set in it?". I soon realized that this isn't just any power-packed basketball musical that I originally thought of. It's something much more deeper than the hardwood action. It's something every Atenean, every La Sallian and every person who got hooked to the seemingly unending battle between the two should see to understand. It might show how the rivalry really started or it might not but it doesn't matter. What matters is that we see the differences as well as the commonalities of the two rival schools and understand what the healthy competition between them is really all about.

Now, we will not see all that if we didn't watch, will we? Here are the details to the  RIVALRY: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical shows:

RIVALRY: Ateneo-La Salle The Musical  will be showing at the Meralco Theater from January 27, 2012 'til March 2012. Tickets are available at Ticketworld or you can drop me a message here if you're getting tickets from me. Ticket prices are as follows:

Orchestra Center – P1,650
Orchestra Side – P1,300
Loge A – P1,000
Loge B – P950
Balcony A – P800
Balcony B – P600
It's also the best way to pump up your Animo for the upcoming Dream Game in February! So, will I see you there?

Someone's stalking me... :p

What a great way to start the day... Someone is really trying to figure out what the hell's running through my mind. This is my Stats page for my Unsent Letters blog:

If you can't see it, you can click on it for it to enlarge.

This is too funny...and flattering at the same time. Haven't had a stalker since 2008. Wooh! Still got swag, me thinks!

Kean Cipriano. He deserves a space here.

My friends know that despite listening exclusively to (Black) American hip-hop and R&B music, I am a jologs at heart. What's jologs, you ask? For those who don't know, jologs is a Filipino slang that pertains to people who religiously follow something so Filipino, it's considered uncool. For example, following Philippine telenovelas is considered jologs.

As for me, all my celebrity crushes are Filipino celebrities. Of course, there's George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Carmine Giovinazzo and Chris Brown (yeah, some of you might say CB shouldn't be lined up with the rest of those guys but what the hell do you care?) but mostly my celebrity crushes are Filipinos and that makes me jologs, which I don't mind being called. If anything, that's even more complimenting for me instead of being called an elitist or a rich little spoiled brat.

Anyway, the celebrity crushes include my first love and all-time crush, John Prats - who I was so obsessed with, my room at home and locker at school had magazine and newspaper cutouts of him - the ultimate bad boy, Bernard Palanca and my ideal man, Derek Ramsay. I also have little crushes in the person of Xian Lim and Coco Martin but I don't really like them that much because they don't fit the "bad boy" image.

The latest addition to the list is the man who has been starring my dreams lately: Kean Cipriano. Kean's rise to stardom started, I believe, when I was in first year college back in 05. I remembered liking one song from his band and I liked it solely because I heard it a lot on my way to school but that's it. He wasn't really a looker then but I found him cute. Cute in a "Oh, he's cute but I'm moving on now" kind of way. He wasn't someone I'd date if he asked me out. Anyway, I didn't notice him anywhere again until he guested in Showtime. Seeing him there turned my world around. He became really hot and his sex appeal increased a hundred or two percent from the last time I saw him. He leveled up! That's when I started following him on Twitter but what really started the Kean craze in me was, ironically, Praybeyt Benjamin. His role was a geek and he wasn't styled like the rockstar that he is but he's just so adorable!

So anyway, I've been religiously following his blog and his Twitter lately and that might be the reason why I dreamt of him a while ago, it was hot and steamy and a lot of kissing - and hiding it - happening but it didn't get THERE which was fine because the foreplay was enough for me to enjoy my dream anyway. I woke up right after seeing a topless Kean in my dreams which bummed be out and the first thought that entered my mind was "Crap. He kisses real good." as if I've kissed him on the lips for real. It did feel real, though, and the way he cupped my face, Oh dear Lord. I'd faint if someone held me that way.

I know I sound like someone who doesn't have a family yet but I don't think you can blame me. He's really hot! Now, I know where he lives - we live in the same neighborhood - and my brother's friends with his brother. The goal is to be friends with him. As in friend lang talaga, walang halong malisya. Fine, there might be a bit...or a lot. It's just a crush, okay?! It's not like I'm planning to sleep with him or anything because I really don't plan to!

(Guilty? De, nagpapaliwanag lang...)

Anyway, I'mma end this post with this photo (I know what you're thinking, that's the first thing I thought of when I saw the photo, too):

Yes, I know, I know.

I have a goal this year to actually make money out of my blogs online. That means I need more traffic in my blogs and that means I need more quality blog posts that people are going to relate to or be interested in... That's why the mommy blog is up again. Haha! :)) This place is for utter nonsense stuff that enter my mind on a normal basis... The Unsent Letters blog might also be used as a means of money-making but I should really get rid of the vulgar words there first before I set it up for "business".

So, anyway, if you've got time to spare, why don't you visit my mommy blog?

If it's any consolation, my ultrasounds are there. :) I will be updating it soon with much more interesting stories, I swear! Might even hold a contest of some sort...

Yep, yep, and yep!

Brianna's Birthday Wishlist

Fine. It's my wishlist for Brianna's birthday. Anyway, here's a list of what we still need for Brianna. Ninongs, ninangs, lolos, lolas, titos and titas, ito na!
  1. Highchair - I don't know if we still will be needing one now but there's this high chair in Babyland in Eastwood Mall that caught my eye. Brianna can use it from now until she's 75. It looks heavy duty. There are several ways you can use it and even adults will be able to use it. Those pink Chicco poly high chairs will do, too.
  2. Booster seats - If the high chairs are too expensive, a booster seat will do. Pink, please.
  3. Portable highchair - If those two are really, really expensive, I would sure appreciate getting this.
  4. Breast pump - Okay, I know this is not for Brianna and I know I have one already but it broke a few weeks ago. So I'll be posting it here, just in case may magmagandang loob. :p Preferred brands are First Years, Pigeon and Avent.
  5. Headbands - Her clothes are mostly pink and blue. I like ones from this site, personally.
  6. Mickey Mouse drum thing - Ugh, this is so frustrating. I don't know what it's called. I just know that its color is red and blue and it makes drum sounds when you hit it and it lights up, too. Brianna's kinakapatid has one but I don't wanna ask the mom because we're not close. :|
  7. iPad - I kid you not! Brianna loves playing with the iPad. If you are generous enough, well, she wants one.
  8. Thermos Funtainer Bottle and Food Jar - Hello Kitty, Barbie, Dora the Explorer, Minnie Mouse or Disney Princess design.
  9. Toys - Brianna already have a shape sorter, a talking cellphone and that pyramid thing I don't know what is called. I'm not really aware of what toys she should have so if you have something in mind, that'll be great.
  10. Books
  11. Clothes - Her clothes are mostly pink and blue so some other color will be perfect.
  12. Photo company gift certificates - No particular photo company as long as they have branches near Pasig area pero wag naman yung mga Photoline at Kodak.
  13. Diapers - EQ or Mamy Poko, sizes L to XL.
  14. Cash - If all else fails, this won't.
So, there. I don't think I can add anything anymore to that list. I had to think really hard to even come up with this list. If you think we need something else or something that might be of interest to Brianna that's not in the list, well, you can give that instead. :)

The mommy blog I made last 2010 to document my pregnancy is back!

Click here to go to my mommy blog. ♥
It's back! I decided to bring it back to life because I can't possibly merge my mommy thoughts here at this blog because my thoughts here are too un-mommy-like. So, anyway, I will be updating that blog about all things Brianna again which is timely, too, because I am kinda panicking over her birthday party as of the moment.

Welcome back, It's All About Jellybean. ♥

It has almost been a year since I merged this blog to my personal blog. Now, I've once again decided to use this blog to document Brianna's (Brianna is Jellybean. ♥) growth because I realized that my personal blog - which is too vulgar for mommies to go to for mommy support - contained so much of my personal thoughts that there's no place for mommy concerns anymore. Now, I'm back here, charged with a year's worth of mommy thoughts and mommy experiences and I am ready to share everything mommy-related to you again.

Nestle Fitnesse 14-day Program

In line with my 110-pound weight goal for this year, I have decided to try this 14-day program of the Fitnesse product of Nestle. Actually, tonight's my second night on the program. If this works out well for me after 2 weeks, I might just stick with it.

For tonight, I had bananas with my cereal. I know I didn't really follow what was written at the box but I was really craving for bananas! Tomorrow, I promise to follow the instructions as stated here:

Woohoo! Let's go, Ale! Oplan Megan Fox-like body 2012, here I come!

Ooh...

So apparently, I have a regular visitor here.

To you,
Hi! Feel free to read my thoughts which isn't about you but might be about your boyfriend but you'll never be quite sure because I've had 2 exes, anyway.
So, there. Hope you enjoy reading my mind as I am enjoying the idea that you give a f*ck about what I say.
Good day!
Ale
PS. I do have another blog where I talk about you. Yes, you are important enough to make it there but don't flatter yourself. It's a blog where you don't want to be in. It's like a little black book thing.

Damn... Really feels good! I feel so damned important! Thank you, Dearie. :p

I shall try this out! Wala namang mawawala.

Who wants to get a MacBook Air? Click on this link!

How weird...

How weird is it that the worst nightmare I have ever had woken up to falls on the 12th of January, 2012?

Coincidence?

Cramming yet again. What's new?

Here I go again with my cramming sessions. No, this is not for work. This is for Brianna's party. I know I still have less than a month to go, meaning I still have a lot of time to fix whatever needs to be fixed but I am panicking!

  1. Orders for the cake should be in at least a month before the event and I still haven't placed any orders yet because I still am not sure with the theme - hello, Daddy Bryan! - we will be having for Brianna's party. Torn between fairy and princess. I guess I'm gonna have to let go of that supplier... I need to find another cake supplier! *stress*
  2. Still haven't decided if we will be giving adults giveaways but I really want to. Although orders for those have a January 27 deadline so we still have time to "relax".
  3. I have to start looking for what Brianna will wear on that day although I already have her "after-party" clothes so that's one item off the list.
  4. We're not sure yet if we should rent a photo booth or not because we are still waiting for the confirmation of Bry's friend who owns a photo booth business.

Ugh. This is so frustrating. I can't decide on anything because I am not the one handling the budget and I don't have (that much) money to spend so I have to wait for all decisions to be made before I can make a move.

Pumapalag pagka-manager ko! Ugh...

#45. The worst terms of endearment for me are "Hubby" and "Wifey". If Bry calls me "wifey", he sleeps on the couch. Ugh.

#44. I hate cats but I am totally in love with Hello Kitty.
